The eighth generation of VW Golf will have a version that will consume only 100 mi/gal. The model will be available on the market in 2020.

Volkswagen has announced that they will build a super economic version of Golf in 2020. This model belongs to the eighth generation of Golf and will be called blue-e-motion. The most economical Golf in the history will have an average consumption of 100 mi/gal and CO2 emissions of only 120 grams per mile. The future Golf MK VIII will benefit from many technological elements taken from the new XL1 concept and will receive an evolved hybrid drive train from the concept which has debuted this year at the Auto Show in Qatar.

The super economic Golf version will not be so cheap, the model will have a lot of plastic components reinforced with fiber carbon. Following this measure, the antiphonary of this model will decrease, but the Germans preparing an unpleasant sound damping system through the audio system. Also, the aerodynamics will be improved significantly.

Both Volkswagen, and also its rivals will be forced to launch more economical models. By 2020, the range of each automaker should have an average of just 152 grams CO2 per mile. In addition to the ecological version of Up!, Volkswagen will benefit from a few electric versions of its models, along with the super economic version of Golf. According to Automobilwoche, Volksvagen Golf MkVII will come in the last quarter of 2012. Some say that the model will hit the dealerships in November next year.

Volkswagen have confirmed the release date for the seventh generation of Golf. Just like Audi A3, the model will be build on the new platform called MQB, a modular platform belonging to Volkswagen Group that will be highly used in the future. In an attempt to become world’s biggest automaker, Volkswagen aim to build 3 million vehicles underpinned by the MQB platform. While next Audi A3 is expected to drop in the summer of 2012, the new generation of VW Golf will be launched at the end of the same year, or the latest in the beginning of 2013.

The German publication Automobilwoche have quoted a source close to Martin Winterkorn announcing that Volkswagen Golf Mk VII will debut in November 2012. According to the source, the best selling compact car in Europe will come, in the seventh reincarnation in all Volkswagen dealerships starting the 11th month of 2012. The spokesman of Volkswagen Germany haven’t confirmed or ruled out the rumors. Unlike the Golf Mk VI, the new model will mean a radical change.

The 2010 VW Golf is very alike the the Golf Mk V both aesthetically and technically, but Golf Mk VII will be different from the two models in both points of view. Like VW said, the launch of Golf VI was just an improvement of Golf V regarding the looks and fuel efficiency.

Preserving the tradition, Volkswagen launched on the market the “most powerful Golf in history”, at Frankfurt Auto Show. Now the 2011 Volkswagen Golf R is set to debut on in US.

After the R32 versions of Golf Mk IV and Golf Mk V, the in-house R division of Volkswagen have built the new 2011 Volkswagen Golf R, with a four cylinder 2.0-liter TSI engine, developing 270 HP. This engine is not just 77 pounds lighter, but also 20 HP more powerful than the naturally aspired 3.2-liter V6 engine used by the previous Golf R32, and also more fuel efficient. The New Golf R 2011 has an average fuel mileage of 29 mpg, 21% more than Golf Mk V R32! The CO2 emissions have also been reduced to a lower level.

The New Golf Mk VI R is not making compromises when it comes to dynamic performances. The 0 to 60 mph sprint is made in 5.7 seconds, but equipped with the six-gears DSG transmission the sprint time drops to 5.5 seconds! The top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph.

The 2.0-liter 4-cylinder  EA113 engine is derived from the one on Golf 5 GTI. In order the squeeze more horsepower the engine block have been reinforced with a whole new alloy, the pistons and the high flow fuel injectors have also been changed. Besides the turbo system and new intercooler is there to reduce the generated heat. The resulting 270 HP are obtained at 6,000 rpm, and the maxim torque of 258 lb-ft at 2,500 rpm.

The 2011 Golf R also benefits from an improved braking system, with 13.5 inch brake discs in front and 12.2 mm in rear, and the suspensions were lowered 1 inch. The ESP was also revised, with two stages, created for track usage, and the electro-mechanic steering was modified for a enhanced response.

The Volkswagen press release does not mention when Golf R is coming in US or at what price, but we are pretty sure that 2011 VW Golf R will debut in January at Detroit Auto Show.

Volkswagen will not leave the three-door version of his Golf, although that niche is only 8% from the compact segment. Moreover, the model will share the platform with the next Seat Leon SC.

Volkswagen announced that it preserves in their offers the three-door version of Golf also on the seventh generation. The model is designed for a niche of 8% from C segment, but also to allow the product of the Golf GTI. With the new generation of Golf, Volkswagen will also produce a three-door version of Seat Leon, which will be called SC. The two models will share the Audi A3 platform. Thus, the leader of the C segment and best-selling volume model in Europe retains the niche versions to grab more customers.

The SC version of  Seat Leon will be truly a niche model, because the Spanish brand has the sales in falling and the Leon model is not exactly the star in sales charts. However, the Iberian model is quite popular among the fans of compact but with an interesting design and with Volkswagen technical under body. There are chances that the SC version of Leon to be is equipped with the most powerful engine in the range, which would create a performance hot hatch with a design at least interesting.

On the other hand, many automakers have leaved the three-doors versions of the compacts in their offers, if they existed. Fiat Bravo, Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Hyundai i30 are available only in five-doors version. On the other hand, Citroen C4, Ford Focus, Kia Cee’d and Peugeot 308 will leave the three-doors versions. The guys from Kia and the French from Citroen offered a special appearance for the three-doors versions of the compacts in their offers, but this will become a part of history in the coming years.

According to an Australian newspaper, the Paris Motor Show 2010 should see the version of the popular hatchback Chevrolet Cruze already. Is it true?

We already know that, at the Paris Motor Show in 2010 , Koreans will present the world premiere monocab Chevrolet Orlando (version number), and the new Chevrolet Aveo (although still not clear whether talk about the concept in Detroit in 2010 or even model number ).

Australians from GoAuto come with a well founded rumor (they say) the premiere of  the first five door hatchback version of the already known Chevrolet Cruze . Which can only augur well for the European market, but not only.

For example, Chevrolet Cruze models sold in Australia under the Holden logo, are already produced in Adelaide, not in South Korea and Cruze hatchback will enter into production on the kangaroos  continent   in the  2011 second half .

Fifth Gear has tested the new hatchback produced by the Italian company. The new Giulietta  marks 100 years of Italian tradition and sportsmanship.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta is in the same class with the Volkswagen Golf and measures 171 in long, 57.4 in height, width 70.8 in and a wheelbase of 2103.5 in. The luggage capacity is 350 liters.

New Alfa Romeo Giulietta was officially launched this spring, at Geneva Motor Show. Developed on the  Bravo’s platform, Giulietta aims to relaunch the Italian brand and mark commercial results  better than its predecessor, 147.

This model is available with  a series of four turbo engines Euro 5, all fitted as standard with Start & Stop system. Of these, two are gas: 1.4 Turbo 120 HP and 170 HP 1.4 Turbo MultiAir and two diesel: 105 HP 1.6 Multijet 2.0 Multijet 170 HP.  Exclusively, Quadrifoglio Verde version will be available with the 1.8 Turbo 235 HP  engine.
