The New Volkswagen Beetle Set For Debut In 2011

The Volkswagen Beetle’s successor is expected to make its debut in 2011, only one year and a few months away from the moment when the Germans stopped the production of the “reborn” version of the famous “beetle.”

The guys from VW are preparing for the next Beetle generation, which should debut somewhere in 2011. This model will be specially designed for the new body, a body that is completely new and is mounted on a Golf chassis. The official release date will be unveiled by Australia Volkswagen Group boss, Anke Koeckler.

Volkswagen hopes to get serious sales with the new VW Beetle, because the second generation of this model was sold on the US market in only 8,000 copies in 13 years. Surprisingly, the United States of America market was considered a “good” market for what was the “New Beetle” 13 years ago, the second generation of this model was a disappointment in terms of sells.

2011 VW Beetle

The only element of the future model that will stay retro will be the design, or, at least, the silhouette. The guys form Volkswagen are aware of the fact that the have created themselves a brand image in the mind of many people with the 1960 “beetle.” That’s the main reason why, the VW designers will not radically change the main idea of this model, but just some small design elements necessary on a modern car. Thus, there is the possibility of installing some LED taillights, headlights located somewhere above the fenders level and other similar elements, necessary to get some good results in safety tests and in the wind tunnel.

So, all “bug” fans around the world, the new 2011 VW Beetle is coming, so be prepared to witness a mixture between retro and modern.
