850,000 Quids Bonus For Top Gear’s Jeremy Clakson
The year that just ended brought Clarkson, besides the 1 million pounds wage, a bonus of over 1 million dollars, from the revenue of sold Top Gear merchandise.
Jeremy Clarkson earns a lot of money from Top Gear TV show. The host and the main star of the British show managed to win 850,000 pounds, the equivalent of 1,315,290 dollars, over last year. This amount of money is a bonus, completing the annual wage from BBC, estimated at 1 million pounds, about 1,547,000 dollars,
The bonus comes from a special contract signed by Clarkson and BBC, thought by the marketing department to motivate the Brit. Seen at the moment as one of the best payed TV hosts, Clarkson earned this year almost 1.5 million dollars from Top Gear merchandise: books, DVDs, toys or scale models.
The contract signed by Clarkson and Top Gear, speculates that a percentage of the merchandise sold by BBC, was signed to keep the Brit in the yard of the British channel.
