TopGear involved or not?

You all probably know by now of the record set by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport supercar, that ran to  267 mph in a dazzling time and with ear-shattering power. Not much wonder, if you consider the flawless Italian design and those 1200 horses pounding inside. Still, that’s a impressive to unbelievable top speed for a production car, that has comfy interior seats, full air conditioning and other comforts that make it a luxurious speeder, not some test car.

But how did they do it? Top Gear claims it has a clue or too, and even that it’s involvement in the record was major. That’s all they say for the moment, but the trio also hints that we should watch the next couple of shows to find out more. Considering that Captain Slow slung a Veyron all the way up to 253 mph, it’s entirely possible that someone from the cast was either in or around the car during its jaunt to the danger zone at the Ehra-Lessien test facility.
