Skoda Superb 1.6 TDI

Superb, the flagship of Skoda  gained  more efficiency by replacing the old 1.9 TDI engine with a small one of just 1.6 liters.

Skoda Superb, the Czech limo, trow the old 1.9 TDI engine and take a new one of  only  1.6 liters. This engine seems very small for a car  that measured from a spoiler  to another over 4.80 meters. But in fact things aren’t  different, because the power has not changed at Skoda Superb, 1.6 TDI model also developing 105 hp and a torque of  250 Nm.

The common rail engine is only available with a five  reports  manual box with   and if dynamic would not delight, the bigest  win comes from economic and environmental aspect. Thus the  three-volume version has an average consumption of only 5 liters per 60 miles, while the break comes with an average consumption of 5.2 liters per 60 miles.

Compared with previous engines, representing a gain on average of 0.7 liters (0.6 liters at Combi) which is  reflected in the emissions.

Thus, the  carbon dioxide emissions consistently go down  around 20 g / km, the sedan having a value of  130 g / km, and two volume version boasts emissions of 133 g / km, thing which is admirable for a car weighing around 1.5 tons. The large weight  is reflected in performance that  are modest, but unchanged. So to reach 60 mph Skoda  Superb 1.6 TDI CR  require 12.5 seconds (12.6 for Combi).  This engine has been initially presented for the  English Market but perhaps shrtly will  be notified the rest the markets.
