Ford Focus RS500 Echappement Spors Car of the Year 01

The French magazine, Echappament announced that Ford Focus RS500, the 350 HP version of the hatchback model, is considered as being the most important sports car of the year.

The French of Echappement magazine have chosen, the sportiest car launched in Europe in 2010. The contest is on the 28th edition, and this year’s winner is Ford Focus RS500, the 350 HP special version of the European hatchback managing to grab the award beating its rivals on the European market.

The runner-up was Renault Megane RS, the podium being completed by two models that scored the same amount of points: Porsche Boxter Spyder and Audi RS5.

The award Ford won this year is the fifth for the American automaker in the history of the competition. The European division of the American brand have won this award in 1982, 1990, 1992 and2002 with their Ford Escort RS 1600i, Ford Sierra Cosworth 4×4, Ford Escort Cosworth and Focus RS, all being famous models in the history of sports cars, and now it seems Ford Focus RS500 joins them.

As you probably know, Ford Focus RS500 is the insane version of the already insane Ford Focus RS. The extreme version of the hot-hatch was built in 500 copies and develops not less than 350 astonishing HP, all sent to the front axle, combined with a black mate body paint.
