Honda might develop in the near future a successor for the legendary NSX. The supercar might use the platform of Honda Accord, adapted for rear-wheel drive.

The rebirth of the legendary Honda NSX is no doubt one of the most rumored auto subjects of the decade. Throughout its life, the Japanese supercar built itself a reputation that pushed it to the top of 90′s supercars, and now the fans want a new modern version of it.

After the Japanese abandoned the project that was targeting the development of a successor for Honda NSX because of financial reasons, new rumors about Honda’s intentions hit the web. It seems that the Asian automaker plans the rebirth of NSX in a modern shape, but more accessible for the public.

Rumor has it that under the hood, Honda engineers are set to install a 3.5-liter V6 engine also helped by an electric motor, the main novelty for the model. The hybrid drive train would allow the Japanese the sent between 400 and 450 HP to the rear axle.

The horsepower resources will have to move a supercar with an estimated weight of 3,500 – 3,700 lbs. The weight might be lowered if Honda choses to use light materials.
