It looks like, the PC gamers have been abandoned, again. Criterion announces that will not offer any DLC for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, PC version. Of course, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles will get all the Premium DLC.

We can’t understand what’s in Criterion officials’ heads, and why are they abandoning the support for this platform. The sales of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit were more than decent, also in retail, as in digital format (especially Steam). But Criterion is not doing it for the first time, also abandoning the patches and DLC for PC version of Burnout Paradise, giving it some extra contend when Burnout Paradise: Ultimate Box was launched.

So, for gameplay fixes and enhancements, the PC users will get a patch, or two, but the premium content (for money) will be missing. I am sure that a lot of PC users would pay for the DLC, and it would mean some extra revenue for Criterion and EA.

Geek.com also tells us why. The official excuse from Criterion said that the simply don’t have enough resources to support the PC version of NFS: Hot Pursuit, as well, a doubtable reason, as they are a studio generating tens of millions of dollars annually. Anyway we hope that the producers of Hot Pursuit, will change their mines, EA will make them do it. Until the next Need for Speed, the PC racing arcade looks a bit gloomy.
