The second generation Mercedes CLS is ready to make the debut at Paris Motor Show 2010. This is why the model has serious competition in the segment, but its creators are not worried at alll.

The Germans at Mercedes have unveiled the first pictures of the new CLS, a model that is set to make its debut at Paris Auto Show, this fall. CLS is now at the second generation, and its creators say that the new model has a more athletic character, and a cat’s silhouette. The guys at Mercedes-Benz have not announced yet the details of the CLS’ engines, but they presented a part of the new features of the model. On the of the new features is the LED headlights, that have 71 LEDs and offer a higher degree of illumination, compared with the same systems of this type.

About New Mercedes CLS’ design, we can say that it makes us think about the SLS AMG supercar, the front grill being dominated by the Mercedes-Benz logo, and this thing underlines the model’s relationship with the other coupes built by the German automaker. Inside, the dashboard is the representation of a cockpit which surrounds the driver and presents him all the informations he needs while driving. The dashboard’s top is wrapped in satin-finished materials, and the whole interior is “packed” with wood and leather. As optional, the guys at Mercedes-Benz offers fiber-carbon or wood finished in a glossy black accessories.

The gorgeous  Mercedes-Benz CLS is finally portrayed in the official pictures  .  Admire him so.

Mercedes-Benz CLS has been partially revealed by an escaped brochure on the Internet, but who not surprised the  all angles of this stylish car.  Official pictures have appeared on German Car Forumand we must recognize that we have what to admire. Firstly the new CLS   has a more muscle aspect, sharply  grid prominence and numerous large veins ho cross the body from one side to another.

Instead, the new CLS seems to lose something of the coupe silhouette, with a line closer to a sedan than the original generation. This impression is given by the  the rear sight with a less inclined and a trunk line which  is continued  less plunged  than the CLS W219. Also, the rear door has a  more generous glass surface,  blurring slightly the coupe-like .  With all of  this is a worthy descendant of the model who opened practically a new niche hunted by many builders with claims.

The interior is a  more sporty evolution of the current  and it feels  the influences of the new E Class, the dashboard beeing  reconfigured in limo style Mercedes average.  The display is no longer Integrated  by the audio controls, but is independently placed on top of the  console and the  air conditioning controls go to the base .

Keeping the latest trends in the ergonomics of the Mercedes-Benz, in the armrest extension, where normally stays right hand of the driver  is now found the selector which operate the Cockpit Management And Data system – COMAND.   The steering wheel has a sporty design being  much better shaped, like the dashboard clocks which  are now in  individual cylinders deep enough.

The first pictures of the second generation Mercedes CLS have been released on the web with almost two months before the car’s world premiere at Paris Auto Show.

The new Mercedes CLS will make its debut at Paris Auto Show, in October, but the first pictures of the model already have hit the web. Although we’re not talking about official sources, we are facing a set of pictures that look like being the real deal, and those who released them say that they are taken from an advertising brochure. If we carefully analyse the model, we can see the design features so common for Mercedes, all on the original silhouette of the first generation CLS.

Just like we could anticipate from the spy shots that presented us the CLS, the model will keep the silhouette that made it famous. The guys at Mercedes-Benz applied their new design language both on the interior and the exterior, and the result is a much more aggressive CLS, defined by the new front grille shape and the new bindings between the hood, headlights and front fender. The profile and the rear of the model are also aggressive, while the interior is finished just like Mercedes-Benz accustomed us. Even so, it is almost impossible not to observe to similarities between the New Mercedes CLS and the CLS Shooting Brake Concept.

The second generation Mercedes CLS borrows E-Class W211′s’ platform, and has a similar range of engines. So, all the V6 engines, available with the E-Class were modified and optimized for the New CLS, and some V8 engines were added. The top of the range will be called CLS 63 AMG and will be equipped with the new 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that will deliver 540 HP as standard and 570 HP with the optional performance package. The 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 is the same engine that debuted on S-Class several months ago. The New Mercedes CLS will be equipped with a four-cylinder engine that develops 240 HP, the 250 CDI unit that made its debut on C-Class and is also present on E-Class. Mercedes might also offer an all-wheel drive version of the model, which will be available only with the 550 CGI engine, equipped with a 4.6-liter Otto unit in V8 twin-turbo configuration. The engine that equips CLS 550 CGI will develop 435 HP and 516 lb-ft of torque.

The new CLS has been caught in front of more than one camera. The stunning four-door, four-seat coupe was snapped by our spies at a photo shoot, where official photographers were taking pictures for press material surrounding the new car launch.

As you can see from the pictures, the CLS features a much more angular, aggressive nose than the car it replaces. The new face is even more sharply contoured than the Concept Shooting Break Mercedes debuted at the Beijing Motor Show earlier this year.

We can also see that the creased shoulder line which runs from the top of the front wheelarch backwards, and the dramatically flared rear wheel arches which look like those on the Bentley Continental GT have all made production.

The rear lights and the trapezoidal exhausts also stand out, giving the rear of the car a more obviously sculpted appearance than the previous generation of CLS.

This particular model is the CLS 350CGI, equipped with the V-Generation 3.5-litre engine which produces 302 HP and 273 lb-ft of torque. It features Mercedes fuel-saving BlueEfficiency technology and is the engine that featured in the Shooting Break concept.
