Lotus Esprit Concept – The Legend Returns
The Brits of Lotus are ready to make a big impact in the automotive world! Is if the debut of a four door coupe and a magnificent GT was not be enough, the British automaker now unveils the Esprit Concept, which announces the comeback of the legendary supercar.
Ready to enter production at the end of 2012, Lotus Esprit will hide under its hood a huge eight cylinder engine, with a displacement of 5.0-liter, which develops not less than 620 HP and 531 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with a seven gears transmission and enjoying a weight of only 3,200 lbs, the British supercar will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds! The top speed? 205 mph! More than this, a hybrid version, featuring KERS technology (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), will be also available for the British supercar.

The new Lotus Esprit will be ready to hit the dealerships starting the spring of 2013, and will have a starting price of 110,000 pounds (about $175,000). So, given the circumstances, it seems that the Ferrari 458 Italia (the Italian supercar that likes the fire) and McLaren MP4-12C (the more tamed successor of McLaren F1) will now have a worthy rival!
