If you ever liked the old XJ, there’s nothing that will make you hate the new one. If you hated the old one, you will surely love the new one. Anyway the English manufacturer is not wasting any time and even developed a hybrid engine as a green alternative for the 5.0-liter V8 engines (385bhp for the naturally aspired one and 470bhp for the supercharged one), but also for the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engines (235bhp or 272bhp).</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The hybrid engine comes to support the Limo-Green project funded by the UK government as they try to build the next generation of luxury sedan.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The new Jag uses a 145 kW, 295 lb-ft unit electric motor. After every charge you are able to drive the car for 30 miles using the lithium battery pack, and then the 1.2-liter range extender (developed by the Lotus engineers) helps you continue your journey for up to 600 miles. I know that only few of us think of not hurting the nature when buying a Jaguar, but for the ones that do, the 2010 XJ hybrid gets 47 mpg (U.S.) on the EU combined cycle with CO2 emissions under 120 g/km.</p>
