Lancia will reveal in Paris 1.4 MultiAir version  of Delta model and the final version of the Special Edition Muso 5th Avenue.

Gradually 1.4 petrol engine MultiAir , 140 HP and 230 Nm of torque starting to make their appearance in the range of all brands owned by Fiat.  At Paris Motor Show Lancia is also provide four-cylinder unit under the hood of one of its models.

It’s the compact Delta, which will be exhibited at the Paris salon with the gasoline engine, which recently found its place on the Fiat Bravo.  The unit promises a fuel consumption of just 5.7 liters per 60 miles and an emission rate of 132 g / mile.  The engine will be available with a manual six reports gearbox and one start-stop system.

Engines will be available with Hard Black package, which proposes more chrome inserts, 18 inch alloy wheels and Alcantara leather seats .  Along with the new engine MultiAir, Lancia stand will exhibit the Euro 5 version of 1.4 T-jet engine, of 120 HP.

Nor Musa will not be absent  from the Italians stand , Fiat  preparing special edition 5th Avenue, anticipated since the Motor Show in Geneva this spring. Available in Italian showrooms, Musa 5th Avenue offers a body in two colors, Masaccio black and white Angelic, windows with tint, specific logos and 16-inch wheels.

The special edition will be available with 1.4 petrol, and LPG engines of 77 HP,1.4 petrol  of 95 HP and 1.3 Multijet 95 HP. The most powerful petrol and diesel units have start-stop system.

List of facilities is a very rich one, customers get Poltrona Frau leather upholstery, bi-zone air conditioning, audio system with CD and MP3, controls on the steering wheel, ESP, rain and light sensors, cruise control and Gran Luce panoramic roof .

Pininfarina delivered this weekend the contemporary interpretation of the Lancia Stratos model. As expected, under the body with sporty line is actually a Ferrari 430 Scuderia.

The rumors concerning the launch of a contemporary interpretation of the legendary Stratos model was confirmed this weekend for the first images of a single copy. As anticipated in the past, it’s about 2010 version of the old Lancia model, custom built, for a European automaker, specifically for Michael Stoschek, the German who leading the automotive accessories company, Brose KG.

The German, aged 63, received last days the asked model from Pininfarina and held a photo session for the public and for the press. The set of pictures published by Stoschek sits next to a single, created by Pininfarina, and the legendary Stratos, signed by Bertone and painted in Marlboro colors.

As was anticipated, under a body with contemporary design, which preserves the general lines of the old model, however, is in fact a Ferrari 430 Scuderia, which means that new layer will be capable of performance worthy of a supercar.

Fiat prepares a hybrid version of the 500 model. The driving train will be made of the TwinAir two-cylinder engine and an 8 HP electric motor. The fuel mileage could raise to 84 mpg.

Fiat plans to offer the public the most fuel-efficient model in their history. Is the hybrid version of the Fiat 500, expected do drop in 2011.

The eco driving train will be made of the new TwinAir petrol engine, of 0.9-liter, and a small electric unit. The hybrid drive train is till in the project phase, the Italians studying the possibility of installing the electric motor between the engine and the transmission, most likely assured by the double-clutch gearbox developed by Fiat.

Fiat 500 Hybrid will have a 84 mpg fuel mileage

The electric motor will work in parallel with the petrol engine, being capable of helping the car in extreme situations and at the start. The drive train will not be as generous, the electric unit offering about 8 HP and some decent torque, to complete the gaps of the conventional petrol engine.

So, the average fuel mileage would raise to the 84 mpg value, and of course the CO2 emissions will drop significantly.

Thanks to the small size of the TwinAir engine, the batteries that will keep the electric unit alive will be mounted right in the engine compartment area, of course only if their weight do not affect the weight distributions on the front axle.

The new Fiat 500 Hybrid will be available both on the European and US markets, and a success would inevitably lead to the use of the hybrid drive train on the other models of the Italian group. The most viable candidate would be the new generation of the small Lancia Ypsilon, but neither Panda is of the equation. The American platform-brother, Ford Ka, might also make some room under its hood for the hybrid propulsion system.

The Chrysler stand in Detroit presented a special version of Lancia Delta, which bears the logo of the American automaker.

As you know, Fiat-Chrysler alliance will produce a series of models developed by a manufacturer that will be marketed with the logo of other brands belonging to the consortium. To illustrate some of the changes that took place in the Fiat-Chrysler alliance, the Americans from Chrysler unveiled a Lancia Delta with a Chrysler logo. The compact Delta was present at the Detroit Auto Show with a changed front grille, along with Chrysler logo located inside and outside.

Although Chrysler Delta will not be sold too soon on the market in the United States of America, it exemplifies the changes that take place in the ranges of the two manufacturers in the alliance.We can expect the Dodge models to receive the logo of Alfa Romeo when Dodge will be sold in the US, and Dodge models receive similar treatment in Europe.

Chrysler version of Lancia Delta is not a concept car, it is a model ready for production. Most likely, this is the form in which the Fiat-Chrysler alliance Delta model will sell in Europe since 2011. If Chrysler Delta will be sold on the US market, it could suffer because the car do not offer a similar space to that of American compacts, which might not be very attractive for the typical American consumer .

Olivier Francois , Lancia CEO,  was appointed head of the Chrysler motor division. This might mean collaborations on a high scale, and more precisely the distribution of the Delta model under a Chrysler logo in the United States. With Lancia operating exclusively overseas and Chrysler primarily in North America, the two brands can share products with no marketing issues or discrepancies.

The Fiat 500 and some Alfa Romeos might also arrive in North America under the Chrysler badge, this seems part of a wide scale plan to boost sels in both countries. We all know Italian cars appeal many people around the world, and we also know that on the other hand American drivers usually trust an America name much more. I mean, would your girlfriend mind driving the sweet Fiat 500 as a Chrysler to work and back? My point exactly.

Lancia Delta III

The Lancia Delta is a premium hatchback meant to be a family car of small-medium size, this being the third generation. The Delta series goes back a long time and  is best known for its World Rally Championship career in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when it dominated rallying. Note that the car is build on the  Fiar C Platform.
