Mini might start shipping the new Coupe and Roadster by 2011
Ever since the Frankfurt Auto Show back in September, those Mini concepts that we loved so much, for the Coupe and Roadster versions, have been going round and round again on the web. Different pictures, some good some sloppy, rumours of all kind – you name it. But now we heard some news, or at least 80% trustworthy rumour: these new concepts, in final versions of course, will start to sale as early as 2011.
It seems that, our sources say, engineering and final touches are well into developmental for new the new Minis. More interesting – and thrilling for Mini enthusiasts out here – is that the final model could hit the assembly plant in Oxford by next June with full production commencing in October, say the people at MotoringFile. Obviously the first ready-to-go ready-to-drive mini but two-doored beauties will hit showrooms and dealers in Europe firstly. The trip to America will be smooth and fast afterwards, if the Minis sell well back on the old continent. And they will, we’re talking the no.1 mini and compact car brand in the world, and that’s saying something asĀ little cars seem to be the thing in 2010 and probably in the following years too.
