Sebastian Vettel got the pole position in South Korea and his Red Bull Racing team-mate, Mark Webber, will join him on the first line of the starting grid.

Just like it was anticipated after the three practice sessions, the fight for the pole in the inaugural edition of Korean Grand Prix was even, every top team having its own strengths on certain sectors of the Yeongam track. Finally, Red Bull F1 Team exploited the opportunities and monopolized the first line of the starting grid with Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.

Timed with 1:35.585, Vettel was only 0.074 seconds faster than his team-mate and so he got the 14th pole position for Red Bull this F1 season. The third position on the starting grid is occupied by Ferando Alonso, who, although it was the leader until the last seconds of the session, he finished about 0.1 seconds behind the Australian.

On the other hand, McLaren F1 Team was not able of matching Red Bull and Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton only taking the 4th place of the grid, over half a second behind Vettel, while Jenson Button will start from the 7th place, after he so often complained about losing grip.

Between the two McLaren team-mates Nico Rosberg and Felipe Massa intercalated, the last one so being unable to help Alonso in the fight for the F1 Drivers’ Championship. Although he impressed us during practice sessions, Robert Kubica only got a place 8 for Renault F1 Team, while Michael Schumacher (Mercedes GP) and Rubens Barrichello (Williams) were the slowest drivers in Q3.
