Fernando Alonso won at Yeongam and became the F1 leader, after Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel abandoned in a race postponed by an hour due the rain.

Fernando Alonso became Sunday the first driver who won in South Korea, at the end of a race that began on lap 18 because the rain and low visibility, with an hour delay to the official program after the Safety Car left the runway.

The Spanish victory was decisive facilitated by the abandonment suffered by Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel, after Mark Webber lose the control on lap 19 and Sebastian Vettel suffered an engine failure with only 9 laps before the final. The Ferrari driver took advantage of the disaster of Red Bull to take the lead in the overall standings and was completed on the podium by Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) and his teammate Felipe Massa.

Michael Schumacher has equaled the best performance of the season after finishing 4th in front of Robert Kubica (Renault) and Vitantonio Liuzzi, Force India managed to keep the final in 6th place in the rankings after being passed in the last laps two drivers of the Williams team, Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hulkenberg, faced with tire problems. BMW-Sauber scored by both drivers having finished on 8 and 9 by Kamui Kobayashi and Nick Heidfeld, while the last point was taken by Hulkenberg.

Jenson Button missed the chance to finish in the points after having taken a wrong strategy, entering to the pits too early with only a few minutes before the Safety Car comes on the track following an incident. The British finally took only 12th place.

Michael Schumacher refused to make any predictions for the end of the F1 season, but he hopes Sebastian Vettel will win the world title.

The equilibrium in the F1 Drivers’ Championship with only four races before the end of the season, made it hard for Michael Schumacher to predict who will win the Formula 1 world title.

The German believes that any of the five drivers involved in the fight, Mark Webber, Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Jenson Button, have real chances to win the trophy, but he hopes that the one to lift it will be his fellow countryman at Red Bull Racing.

“If you want to lose money, bet on one of those guys because none can be right and can be correct! If you look at this year, I think it has been a very exceptional year, with so many drivers still in the championship and for the fact that there have been so many up and down happenings – retirements and so on – that I don’t think you could have expected. I’m good friends with Sebastian [Vettel], so my fingers are crossed for him,” said the seven times world champion in a press conference at Suzuka.

The five title contenders are separated at the moment by only 25 points, the equivalent of a win according to FIA’s new pointing system for F1.

In addition to the 16 engineers, eight others are prepared to take action if needed: one to replace front wing , one possible remedy for stopping the engine, two for adjusting the wing angle and four for where both drivers team made the exchange of tires in the same round.

An interesting detail is that the 16 engineers working on a pitstop, are selected from a total of about 30 who have performed other tasks within the team. Practic, nu există mecanici angajaţi special pentru efectuarea schimbului de pneuri. Basically, there are no specifically engineers employed for the exchange of tires.

Although the entire procedure seems very simple in appearance, engineers executes approximately 100 such tests for each Grand Prix.

“There are two secrets, if we can call them that: training and constant practice,” adds Ioverno. “From the start of this year, we have done over 1300 pit stop practices, at the track and at the factory. In the weeks when there are no Grands Prix, we train three times, carrying out around thirty simulations per day. At the track, we work from Thursday to Saturday, tackling the weekend as though we were a football team: the day before, some fine tuning and on Sunday, relax before the match. It is important that the guys receive the instructions in a calm manner, without getting agitated: they are perfectly aware of what a big responsibility lies in their hands, especially in races like yesterday’s. There is no point in rushing them as this only leads to mistakes.”

“A pit stop is like a ballet, played to a soundtrack of an engine, in which a group of people has to operate in perfect harmony with themselves and with the star dancer, namely the driver in the cockpit,” continues Ioverno. “The success of the operation also depends a lot on him: it is crucial that he always stops at the exact same preordained spot, otherwise you lose valuable tenths, because twenty centimetres more or less means the whole crew has to move. Each role requires its own physical and mental characteristics.”

Fernando Alonso returned to fight for the title after winning the race at Monza and climbed the first rung of the podium with Jenson Button and Felipe Massa.

Fernando Alonso managed to get the victory for Ferrari in the race for the Scuderia on their own land, but not before being passed by Jenson Button at the start and return to the first position after the mandatory exchange of tires.

Even if the differences between the two rivals have always been about one second, Alonso and Button are avoided decisive attack, the race being decided by the speed on which engineers changed the tires.

Fernando Alonso The Winner Of Italian Grand Prix 2010

Last step of the podium was occupied by Felipe Massa, who made an anonymous race, but win valuable points for Ferrari in the constructors’ championship.

Sebastian Vettel took fourth place after a race full of adventures. Although it was passed by Webber at the start of the race following temporary failure of the engine, the Red Bull team driver adopted an excellent strategy and made the must exchanged tire in the last round, managed to finish ahead of Nico Rosberg and his team-mate.

Webber won sixth place but only after an electrifying duel with Nico Hulkenberg in the last laps, the Williams team pilot thus relegated on seven, ahead of Robert Kubica (Renault), Michael Schumacher (Mercedes GP) and Rubens Barrichello (Williams).

Lewis Hamilton left the race on the first lap after hitting Alonso in attempt to pass him.

The film of the race:

START: ecstazy and agony for McLaren.

Button went very well in the race and Alonso attacked him on the right track start-finish straight. Scuderia pilot tried to baffle him, but Britain remained in place and kept first place after the sequence of the first two corners, while Alonso and Massa were part of a wheel to wheel duel for several turns.

Left of the fifth, Hamilton tried to exploit the situation, but with Alonso touched them with front right tire and had damaged the suspension, was forced to abandon the next turn.

The incident propelled Rosberg on the fourth place, ahead of Kubica and Hulkenberg, while pilots of Red Bull Racing had a disappointing start. Vettel has fallen from six to seven, while Webber was passed at the start of two pilots and three other on the first chicanery, down to ninth place. Australian climbed one position in lap six, when he passed Schumacher in a spectacular maneuver in the first chicanery.

Vettel, passed by Webber after engine problems.

Time difference between Button, Alonso and Massa approximately remaining two seconds in the first stint, while Rosberg was removed more than 10 seconds by the top trio and has created a train behind him. This has disadvantaged Vettel and Webber, who needed a good result as Red Bull to keep leaders in the constructors. Their chances fall in round 21, when Vettel reported engine trouble and was easily overcome by Webber. However, after a few laps, Vettel returned to the initial ritm and remained along his teammate, and also increasing the advantage over Schumacher.

Alonso comes leader after pit stoping.

Meanwhile, Alonso came within just one second of Button, but the duel for first place takes in the pits. Button exchanged the tires in round 37, followed one lap later by Alonso and the Scuderia Ferrari driver managed to get out in front of his rival. Spaniard blocked the path to Button of the first corner and stayed in first place, moving thus for a victory for Scuderia Ferrari in front of fans.

Gradually, Alonso has increased his advance ahead of Button and past the finish line first, the podium was completed by Massa. Webber eventually moved in front of Hulkenberg at the end a duel held on several rounds, while Sebastian Vettel got on the pit in the last lap and came in the fourth position thanks to an advance of over 22 seconds ahead of Rosberg.

Best time in the race was set by Fernando Alonso, Scuderia Ferrari driver was clocked in 1:24.139 to round 52. Italian Grand Prix saw four retirementsin the front of Jarno Trulli (Lotus), Bruno Senna (Hispania), Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) and Kamui Kobayashi (BMW Sauber).

Hamilton admitted he was wrong to compete in qualifying without F-duct system, after establishing in the session only the fifth time.

Results from the three training sessions indicated that McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull start with about equal opportunities in the Italian Grand Prix but Lewis Hamilton finished only fifth in qualifications.

Seemingly inexplicable, the result is due to pilot’s decision to abandon the British F-duct ventilation system, world champion in 2008 considering that it has no positive impact on the timeline. In contrast, all other traditional teams, including his teammate Jenson Button, preferred to maintain the F-duct system on F1 cars.

In this context, Britain has acknowledged that eliminating this component may be the main cause of poor outcomes of qualification.

“I’m quite disappointed with fifth place. We chose to go with the lighter downforce level which doesn’t have the F-duct and just the car’s sliding everywhere and I struggled a lot on each tyre – I just didn’t have the downforce.”

“I can’t push anymore than the car will give me and it can’t give me anymore.”

“I think we’re in a tricky position,” he said.

“Turn one’s not an easy turn, it’s going to be very tricky out there on track trying to get in position.

“There are long straights but you’ve got to get close to the car in front and I think that’s going to be very tricky.”

Instead, Button managed to place second place the grid at Monza, was only 0.1 seconds slower than Fernando Alonso which will start from pole position.

Jenson Button made a much-needed strong start to the Italian Grand Prix as he set the pace for pre-weekend favourite McLaren in first practice at Monza. Button Besides his good form on F1 plans to retire.

Jenson Button says that the legalization of team orders in Formula 1 would lead to early withdraw from the competition.

FIA World Council proposal to revise the regulation that prohibiting team orders divided into two distinct camps the F1 world.

While team leaders assessed that team orders are part of sport, pilots, gradually begin to express discontent, and the first of them is the world champion Jenson Button.

McLaren driver says that he will retire earlier than his planing data, if team orders are legalized.

“Certainly I would brief career in Formula 1. I do not understand (No – controversy). For the pilot Formula 1 team orders not helped, nor I was disadvantaged. I do not know if it will happen but if the rules change in order to have team orders will be very strange. That would change the formula 1. I fly in Formula 1 at least another year and I enjoy it, but if you implement this rule change point views on sport, ” said the Briton to Reuters news agency.

Jenson Button has denied the fact that he was braking to early. Red Bull team boss Christian Horner thinks that Button caught Sebastian Vettel unawares by braking earlier than usual, fact that cause the collision between two in the Belgian Grand Prix.

On lap 16 of the race Vettel was attempting to pass Button when he saw him braking (it seems to early) losing control, and slamming into the side of his rival’s car.

Jenson Button And Sebastian Vettel Crash At Spa-Francorchamps

Many observers felt Vettel’s impetuosity was to blame, but Horner felt that the German was caught out by Button, braking earlier than expected on the greasy track.

“At the end of the day Jenson had a slightly damaged car, he was a lot slower, and obviously he was driving defensively – which he’s perfectly entitled to do, but it took Sebastian by surprise just how early he did brake for the chicane,” said Horner.

“Obviously, I’d lost the floor-plate of one of my front wing end-plates and that was affecting the car’s balance – but I didn’t brake any earlier for the Bus Stop on the lap of the crash,” he told Button for his website on Thursday.

“After the race, I actually checked the data with my race engineer, and it shows that I braked at exactly the same point on the lap before the collision,” say in the end Jenson Button.

Jenson Button believes that Sebastian Vettel has minimum oportunities to become champion because of numerous pilot errors committed in this season.

Seen as a potential successor of Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel had contrasting devolutions this season, at his seven pole positions adding just two wins and a number of pilot error.

The German had an accident with his teammate Mark Webber in Istanbul, and in the Belgian Grand Prix forced Jenson Button to abandon after hitting him in the left F1 car side.

Jenson Button And Sebastian Vettel

Because of these mistakes, the world champion believes that Vettel was autoexcluded for the title fighting this season, even if is on the three position in the ranking.

“He made too many mistakes this year to fight for world title, but is extremely fast and we can not get it. To get pole position seven sites is extraordinary in view of many races were held (No – 13 ), but to throw so many of them is also very surprising, ” said the McLaren driver.

Button, however, excluded the hypothesis that Webber to become the number one driver Red Bull Racing team, and claims that it can overcome the difference of 35 points separating him from standings leader Hamilton. To do this, the Britain admits that would need a victory at Monza circuit.

“I’m 35 points and that means a lot, but old money (No – the points system in 2009) are 14 or 15 points, so it certainly is possible. I am able to go onto the track and hope to win. If I can get another victory at Monza will be a different atmosphere. It’s a circuit I like and where I will do very well this year. seater I trust and believe you have a good weekend, ” the Briton said.

Italian Grand Prix will take place over two weeks and will close the European F1 season.
