Jeep is set to launch a B segment SUV in 2013. The model will borrow the design language of Wrangler and apply it on a Fiat B segment platform.

The Jeep line-up will extend in 2013, when it will also include a subcompact car. The model will be an SUV, which will be underpinned by a platform of the Fiat Group. Rumor has it that the platform will be the one of Fiat Grand Punto, but this information was not confirmed yet by the officials of the Fiat – Chrylser alliance. The model will feature Fiat JTD engines, the 1.3-liter and 1.6-liter units, next to 1.4-liter MultiAir engines. The entry-level version will only feature front-wheel drive, with the flagship will have four wheel drive.

The new Jeep model will have a look reminiscent of Wrangler and wants to attack the segment opened by Nissan Juke. Regarding the optionals, the model will offer premium materials and equipment, for attracting young customers. Jeep officials are delighted by the first sketches of the next model and believe that the next B segment SUV will be a very special model.

Regarding the design of the new model, a Jeep official said that it will have a Wrangler-inspired front grille. Of course, the size will be adapted to the dimensions of the smallest model of Jeep line-up.

Chrysler officials are preparing two special editions for Jeep Wrangler and Ram 1500.  The first of these will be called Wrangler Call of Duty  and the second was named  Ram 1500 Longhorn.

American automaker Chrysler, prepare for  Jeep and Ram fans one special edition of Wrangler and 1500 models. The first of these was named Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty  and, as the name suggests, was inspired by the new video game Call of Duty Black Ops.

The game will make its debut on November 9 and we can expect that the Wrangler’s special edition to be presented in the same period. Wrangler Call of Duty  will have a special color and impressive wheels.

The second version prepared by Chrysler is called  Ram 1500 Longhorn and will be presented to the public at the Texas Motor Show, which will take place next week. Most likely  Ram 1500 Longhorn will have the same special features as the Lone Star edition , version which is dedicated to Texas county. The latter received 20-inch wheels and some interior enhancements.

Chrysler presented to CUnited States of America (USA) dealers, a concept pickup Jeep brand, and one that we hope to be new Dodge Viper,  as well as plans for the new automatic gearbox with 9 reports, writes Automotive News Europe.

The concept of the new Viper is actually an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione with ” Viper face,” said one of the dealers.  Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione is an exclusive car, available in coupe and cabrio body versions, with limited production, being also the most expensive model ever built by Alfa Romeo.

Immediately afterwards, the new Viper concept entered the scene.

Automatic gearboxes with nine steps will be mounted on cars from Chrysler Group (which includes the brands Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge Ram) with front-wheel drive, after  cars with rear wheels will receive eight-speed automatic transmission, in 2012 .  Both gearboxes will be adapted for hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive, according to Marchionne.

Jeep Patriot is renewed and received a new face, a novel body tone and a performance diesel engine.

Jeep officially announced that they will launch at Paris Auto Show, which will start in September 30, a facelift for the Patriot model. It will support both aesthetic interventions at exterior and at the interior, the range of the engines will also be improved.

Jeep Patriot is in line with the modern car line of 2010 with a new grille, painted in body-color, by the emergence of close fog light, by the emergence of new 17-inch wheels and by an improved range of exterior colors. At the interior, Jeep Patriot offers to the interested customers quality materials, soft texture and pleasant to the touch replacing the hard plastic parts, a new three-spoke steering wheel and a navigation system named demanding new UConnect Voice Command which, as its name suggests can be accessed by voice commands.

At the engines chapter, the facelift of the Jeep model announces the waiver of the old Volkswagen 2.0-liter diesel engine and the adoption of a 2.2-liter CRD engine that produces 163 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque.

According to the official announcement of the mark, Jeep Patriot Facelift will debut on the market this autumn, soon after the launch from Paris Auto Show 2010.

Jeep operated a series of changes on the current Wrangler generation. The facelift brings new body colors and an interior more suited for its passengers.

Jeep is looking to bring its customers back in the showrooms with a revised version of the Wrangler model. But, the American automaker resumed at a series of discreet changes, at least for the exterior of the car.

We are talking about a more generous rear window and about a fabric roof that matches the body paint, an option introduced only on the Sahara version. The list of colors available for the body also has a number of options: Bright White, Cosmos Blue, Deep Chery, Detonator Yellow and Sahara Tan.

But the main novelties come at the interior of the car, where Jeep wanted to show their concern for their customers. The Americans redesigned the dashboard, the main board instruments and revised the storage spaces. As we expected the quality of the materials fount at the interior grew, and the options list became much more bigger.

The customer receive now heated electric mirrors, a steering wheel with controls for the tuner, cruise control, car phone, but also USB and iPod connectivity, Bluetooth, a 12 volts outlet and an 110 volts one. Until now, the American automaker haven’t unveiled the price tag of the New Jeep Wrangler nor the launching date of the facelift.

Chrysler has released a lot of new photos of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee! We can now see the fantastic car, in official high-quality shots, in all sorts of environments, like the desert or in muddy waters, from rocky slopes to snow-topped mountains. Well maybe the mud isn’t all that obvious as it wouldn’t be good for the Grand Cherokee’s visage, but anyhow…

The company also turned out a satisfying press release, complete with a few details on the newest version of Jeep’s luxury utility. Chances are Chrysler was attempting to see just how big of a difference the truck’s reworked fully independent suspension and stiffer chassis would handle a serious flogging.

Prices? Well the two-wheel drive models is going  to carry an MSRP of $30,995, with the four-wheel drive variant setting you back another $2,000. Not too bad, not too good. But prices don’t mean everything… we tend to forget that in these troubled times.

The core, or soul if you’re more the poetic type, of the 2011 Grand Cherokee is the the new Chrysler Pentastar V6 platform and powerplant, that translates into some 11 percent better fuel economy, Chrysler estimate. That means that the new 7,200 pounds SUV from Jeep can boast with a highway figure of 23 mph. Pretty good.

The Jeep officials have hinted that the new Grand Cherokee will have a performance SRT8 version, able to dethrone the BMW X5 M

In a recent interview with the Jeep officials, the American journalists from “Car and Driver” has released an assumption of a performance version of Grand Cherokee SRT8. The management people have not confirmed and nor denied the assumptions, but have hinted that a version with SRT8 sign usually begins after two years from launch the standard model on the market.

The statement was enough to give birth to a series of speculations around the American model. More voices have argued that Jeep plans to steal the title of the most powerful series SUV in the BMW showcase, aiming at better performance than the Bavarian BMW X5 M, which delivers a total of 555 HP.

To deliver such claims, the new Grand Cherokee could use a Hemi engine, naturally aspirated, 6.4-liter, able to develop somewhere between 505 and 525 HP. Lack of power as his luggage X5 M will be substituted by a lower mass and a exemplary road-holding. The latter would be provided by an adjustable air suspension with a predominantly sporting character.

If those statements from the Jeep officials are true, we would see a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 in the next two years, as early as 2013.

It seems that 2009 was not a good year for the Japanese in America, where the JD Power study on the cars reliability have interesting results in ranking.

J.D. Power & Associates study, best known car company statistics in the USA, considered the number record of problems per 100 cars, the models produced since 2007.

The 2010 results are very surprising, no longer placed among the Japanese brands. Porsche recorded the fewest problems per hundred vehicles, with a 110 value, followed by Lincoln and Buick – the premium brand owned U.S. Ford brands, respectively General Motors.

Lexus is appears in ranking on the fourth position, tied with Buick, while Toyota is lagging behind the Mercury, Ford “daughter”, which is so far is pretty weak in JD Power studies.

Most Japanese brands managed to rank above the average of 155 defects per 100 cars; Toyota and Honda remain the most reliable brands in the Sun-Rises Country (note the position of Toyota, despite the recent scandal and massive recalls in service).

It seems that in USA, the German cars are not even best in terms of reliability: only Mercedes Benz is above the industry average (but under Ford), while BMW and Audi are very far from the teuton competitor. Even Volkswagen surprise by placing very far, down the ranking, after Mini and Jeep.

It is remarked Toyota Prius and Corolla models which are best in “compact car” segment, one of the most important in USA. On the other hand, surprising the U.S. advance designs in medium and large saloon, but the Germans take their revenge when we talk to premium.

In the area of SUV / crossover / pick-up, Toyota has no fewer than three models better than competitors (and even four, if we consider and Lexus) and Honda second, while Ford and Lincoln succeed better than main competitors in two categories.

The most important thing for J.D. Power, however, remains the performance of the average industry decline: from 167 defects per 100 cars in 2009, this figure has now reached 155. Which shows, however, clear that automakers are striving to produce the best possible quality cars, which generate few problems.

Upon introduction, both trims (2×4 4×4) are equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 172-horsepower engine that achieves 23-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the highway. All this thanks to a multi-point injection fuel system. Good numbers, but does the Jeep Patriot keep them in time? Transmission is manual 5-speed standard, but you can go for an automatic if you like. Overdrive featured in both. It shares a platform with the Caliber, and that’s nothing but good news.

The Jeep Patriot can also be yours in the mainly electricity powered model, the EV. The pictures you can see are of the EV model, as we promote Eco friendly cars. While three ENVI concepts were originally revealed last summer, Chrysler’s saved this–the Jeep Patriot EV – for the 2009 Detroit auto show.

It looks just so… Jeep on the exterior that you can’t help but imagine it dirty on the road. The new model Patriot sees some mild changes to the exterior and a much-revised interior. Inside, there is now a much stronger European look than the somewhat challenging over-complicated interior design of the previous model. The Dark Slate Grey theme on the interior finish is just what I think suits a real hardtracker Jeep well, so 9/10 from us on the interior design. In addition, thanks to standard ‘Stain Repel’ technology, the Patriot’s interior will maintain its appearance through all life’s little mishaps – or so it is claimed. The centre console is all-new and door trim panels are redesigned and with additional padding for improved comfort.
