Apple really hates jailbreakers because they always find a way to allow users to gain full access on their iOS devices and to install unofficial apps. Well, they’re doing it on their own risk… So if you want to jailbreak your iOS 4.1 device and you own a Linux or a Mac OS X computer, then now you can jailbreak it, too.

GeoHot has released Limera1n for Mac OS X computers, while the Chronic Dev Team has released Greenpois0n for Linux computer. Previously, only Windows users could’ve downloaded Limera1n, while Windows / Mac users could’ve downloaded Greenpois0n.

At the moment the iPhone Dev Team is keeping SHAtter for its own, as well as an unlock tool for iOS 4.1 Sure, you can unlock iPhones with iOS 4.1, but not if you’re running on the latest baseband. The Devs Team says that an unlock tool for baseband 05.14.02 is coming in the near future, so if you’re thinking to upgrade to iOS 4.1 and then jailbreak your device, then do a back-up and make sure you don’t update via iTunes in order not to lose your carrier unlock.
