The 2013 year will bring a new major competitor in the medium premium segment. Jaguar will unveil XE model, the X-Type’s successor, a fierce rival for new BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class Facelift.

The last years marked the return of Jaguar brand on the premium segment, the British automaker enjoying by a steady appreciation from the European public. But to be able to maintain in favor of the most demanding critic, the British automaker must raise with a representative on the D segment, worth with the duel with BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class.

The representative Jaguar will be hold the XE indicative and will reach on the market until 2013. The British model will be developed on an aluminum platform, rear wheel drive, identical to the one used by Jaguar to launch a special sport. The X-Type’s successor will take a coupe body, five-door type, built entirely of aluminum, patterned after the design of the XF and XJ older brothers, with influences taken from C-X75 concept.

Under the hood of the future Jaguar XE will be gasoline and diesel units with four or six cylinders, taken from Ford, coupled to an automatic transmission with eight reports, ZF provenance. In 2015, the public could get even a hybrid version, powered by an ensemble consisting by a V6 3.0-liter diesel engine, which currently exists in the range, and a power unit of 47 HP.

The holy grail of speed has always been the production car speed record.

Many car companies run for thesse record, but not many succeed to put their name into the World Guinnes Book. As i told you, some of them have succeeded and some not, but either way, these machines are fantastic.

Most of the cars, on the list bellow are very expensive and only built in limited copies. In order to get on the list, the car must be street legal, so no Formula One cars or land speed machines. The laws for getting on the list are also very tough, as there are no set rules. Nonetheless, the current fastest production car hit a speed of 267 miles per hour. Can you guess which car that was?

10. Ferrari Enzo – 217 MPH.

The  production number of this car is limited at 399. This car is powered by a V12 engine which developes  660 HP.

This Ferrari typically trades above $1,000,000 at auction, making it just as expensive as the Bugatti Veyron.

9. Jaguar XJ220 – 217 MPH.

The XJ200 model  held the record for the highest top speed of a production car, reaching 217 mph until the McLaren F1 shows.

Under the hood this car has an V6 3.5 liters engine, with twin Garrett T3 turbochargers, generating 542 HP.

8. Ascari A10 – 220 MPH.

This  car has a modified V8 5.0-liter BMW engine, producing 625 HP. Only 50 A10′s will be built, making this just as rare as anything else on this list.

7. Gumpert Apollo – 220 MPH.

This car holds the top spot at the Top Gear track.  The Apollo is produced by a German automaker in Altenburg.

For those of you who want to chose, there are three engine types available with the race version rated at 789 HP. The  car production  started in October 2005.

6. McLaren F1 – 240 MPH.

The car has a V12 6.1-liter with 627 HP. In order to drive the car, the driver must sit in the middle,  like in a Formula One car.

The original S7 was rare, but this version won’t be seen by many people. Under the hood is a V8 engine with 750 HP. This twin-turbocharged monster went on sale for $585,296 in 2005.

4. Koenigsegg CCR- 245 MPH.

The CCR can hit a top speed of 245 mph and it will hit 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. The engine  is a V8 4.7-liter  with four valves per cylinder, double overhead camshafts, and carbon fiber cam covers.

The CCR didn’t hold the record for very long, as the prototype Veyron took the title in 2005.

3. Bugatti Veyron – 253 MPH.

The original Bugatti was considered by the automotive press as a car that could never be built. In a classic foot in mouth moment, the Germans delivered the Veyron with a top speed of 253 mph from an W16 8.0-liter engine.

2. SSC Ultimate Aero TT – 256 MPH.

The Ultimate Aero TT  is a supercar built by Shelby in United States. SSC tested its top speed capability of the Ultimate Aero TT on March 22, 2007. The car hit a top speed of 256 mph, beating the record held by the standard Bugatti Veyron.  Under the hood is a V8 6.35-liter engine.

As the Veyron wasn’t fast enough, the new Bugatti Veyron Super Sports model is just insane. Under the hood is a engine capable of 1,100 HP and speeds of 267 mph. In order to get that kind of speed out of the car, Bugatti had to make the normal Veyron more aerodynamic. On top of the speed record, the car was also the fastest around the Top Gear test track.

The key has never been speed, most supercars can hit very high speed. The trick is to make a car that can withstand the forces that accompany those speeds.

Jaguar will exhibit at the Paris Salon a mysterious concept, which envisaged the automaker’s new design direction.  He will have  a hybrid powertrain.

European automakers  thread, announcing major award at the Paris Motor Show, this fall, is thicker, this time with Jaguar.  The British automaker will exhibit at its booth, a radical concept, launching new lines of design and celebrates 75 years of Jaguar.

The Parisian concept will have similar dimensions  with those from XK and will expose the vision of a sports model, able to bring to the British an image capital,  similar to that gave  by  918 Spyder of Germans from Porsche , at the Geneva Show.

Unlike his counterpart in Stuttgart, the British concept will not serve as a starting point for a future production model. Its aim will be to anticipate the future Jaguar model line, scheduled to debut  in 2012 with the launch of the new generation XK.

Also, the concept marks the end of the current t design phase, inaugurated by Ian Callum with the XK and  completed by XJ .  According to sources in  Jaguar office  deisgn  entourage , the new concept will introduce a new front grille, adapted to sports models and luxury ones.

However, the British automaker  luxury concept will give the public an opportunity to make contact with a new hybrid propulsion train, hidden under the  futuristic body. Although there are no official information, speculation talks  about a V6 petrol, turbocharged engine, assisted by an electric engine incorporated in the eight reports  box, ZF provenance.

Jaguar will launch the bulletproof version of XJ at the Moscow Auto Show. The bulletproof Jaguar XJ is called Sentinel and has a weight of 7,300 lbs and can face the detonation of 33 lbs of TNT near it.

The Brits of Jaguar unveiled the technical specifications of XJ Sentinel, the bulletproof version of their new luxury sedan. The purpose of a model like this is to offer top ballistic protection, all these without being visually different from a standard XJ. The model is offered with a three year warranty or 50,000 miles and is based on a Jaguar XJ with an Otto engine, V8, with direct injection.

The engine of XJ Sentinel develops 385 HP and 380 lb-ft of torque and helps this bulletproof model to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 9.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 120 mph. At the first sight, it doesn’t seem too impressive for a car equipped with a new-generation 5.0-liter V8 engine, but we have to consider that the model can handle a grenade thrown under it or the detonation of 33 lbs of TNT nearby. As well, the model withstands numerous types of weapons and bullets, even though we speak about 9mm guns or machine guns.

In order to be able to handle the extra weight of 3,144 lbs coming from the heavy armor, Jaguar equipped the XJ model with a set of active shock. The brake system was borrowed form the performance version of Jaguar XJ to resist the weight excess from the armor, and the 19 inch alloy wheels of the model were build from a special alloy, which is extremely hard. Jaguar XJ Sentinel’s tires are Dunlop Run on Flat of 245/45 and can handle a maximum weight of 8,400 lbs.

Among a slowing expansion in the Chinese market, one particular premium vehicles manufacturer is doing surprisingly well. Over the past three months, British luxury brand Jaguar has been the only expensive car name to see growth in sales. This continues a record-setting spree that Jaguar have been seeing in the surprising Asian market that is China.

Jaguar sales in the first half of the year 2010 reached an all-time record figure of 1,500 vehicles with June sales, passing the 400-unit threshold for the first time in it’s Chinese history.

Thus, expected performance for this year is predicted to be a new record for Jaguar in China, surpassing sale figures of last year by almost 2,000 units.

Lorenz Glaab, general manager of Jaguar China, did not offer an exact pictures of the company’s sales goal in China this year, but said their products are “still in high demand”. And we all know Brits are ambitious folks, so we can only figure…

“We do believe that as the society here (in China) matures and customer taste matures, the luxury market in general has a very bright future,” he added.

Mr. Glaab also told of what helped Jaguar know success in China, apart from the high quality products we all know so well. He mentioned pro-activeness, expansion of the dealer networks (not a hard pick for the most populated country in the world), and they’re also preparing a local sales arm in China. Jaguar hold 37 dealers in China, the third biggest network after the United States and their homeland UK.

A public display of “testing” R models in southern city Zhuhai also boosted public interest in fast premium cars and attention in Jaguar as a top European maker with a solid presence in China.

Jaguar’s product portfolio in China includes the XF and XJ executive cars, but, as we stated above, the high-performance range of XFR and XKR. The XF, with its lower relative price that starts at around 600,000 yuan, accounts for 80 percent of Jaguar’s China sales.

What’s interesting, and even more laudable, about Jaguar’s record in China is that all it’s production is based in the UK. The maker has no overseas plants currently, and they take proud in national production. Let’s hope that even if they do start building in foreign lands the high level of quality and classic design will suffer no changes.

Jaguar has officially revealed a special concept based around the general XJ line. The car is meant to commemorate the luxury brand’s 75th anniversary. Happy Anniversarry Jaguar! Let’s take a look at this XJ75 concept, which was unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this weekend.

The Jaguar XJ75 is a highly customized saloon, with 22 inch alloy wheels that reflect the contrastant  metallic black&white color finish. The recently uncovered special XJ75 car stands out also due to it’s new front, rear and side sills.

The interior of the Jaguar XJ75 follows the same principle, the cabin is all dressed in  black leather, with pearlescent white air vents, veneers and suede leather inserts in the seats and headliner.A Bremont clock adorns the front panel. Faint lighting of buttons and an elegant display complete the masculine feel of the car’s interior.

The XJ75 will be powered by Jaguar’s proved and tested 5.0-litre supercharged V8, an engine that will power the concept up to 470 horses and 424 lb.-ft of torque. The rest of the figures once Jaguar makes them public.

Ford could launch in Europe next generation Mustang with a V6 turbo diesel engine. Reason: to attract customers.

Jaguar launched last night the new admiral ship during an event presented by Jay Leno.

The communication leaders wanted to emphasize that the XJ Jaguar will set new standards in the luxury, a model in which the British automaker puts great hopes. The new model is impressive at first sight and if the outside part view reminds us of XF models, the back view comes with a completely original style for the British automaker.

The aluminum body helps the car to be lighter by about 331 pounds compared to its main competitors, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are those that have benefited from this advantage. Low weight and together with over 50% of recyclable materials help the economy of 6614 pounds of CO2 for each vehicle.

The technical part comes with Jaguar Adaptive Dynamics and an air suspension system, Active Differential Control and a range of engines consisting of a V6 3.0-liter diesel engine, a V8 engine with 385 HP, and two versions of its supercharged engine of 470 HP and 510 HP. The transmission is ensured by an automatic six-speed ZF gearbox.

The first orders for new Jaguar XJ was already taken, but deliveries will be conducted from the first month of next year.

When you say Jaguar, you think of something that looks very nice, luxurious and that great things happen under the hood. If you ever liked the old XJ, there’s nothing that will make you hate the new one. If you hated the old one, you will surely love the new one. Anyway the English manufacturer is not wasting any time and even developed a hybrid engine as a green alternative for the 5.0-liter V8 engines (385bhp for the naturally aspired one and 470bhp for the supercharged one), but also for the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engines (235bhp or 272bhp).

The hybrid engine comes to support the Limo-Green project funded by the UK government as they try to build the next generation of luxury sedan.

The new Jag uses a 145 kW, 295 lb-ft unit electric motor. After every charge you are able to drive the car for 30 miles using the lithium battery pack, and then the 1.2-liter range extender (developed by the Lotus engineers) helps you continue your journey for up to 600 miles. I know that only few of us think of not hurting the nature when buying a Jaguar, but for the ones that do, the 2010 XJ hybrid gets 47 mpg (U.S.) on the EU combined cycle with CO₂ emissions under 120 g/km.
