Lotus Elite Hybrid Version

Lotus Elite will debut over four years and promises to become a top competitor of Aston Martin DB9.

Lotus  revealed several images of the future Elite model. The model will begin in 2014 and is a hybrid equipped with a V8 engine, with a design which remind us of Aston Martin DB9. Lotus Elite will be the most expensive model of UK brand and will fight alongside the Ferrari, Porsche and Aston Martin.  The price is not yet announced, but some voices announcing a value exceeding $156,000.

This is the third model in Lotus history under the name Elite. The model is a 2 +2 coupe with the engine placed in front and rear traction. Depending on the version, the model will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.5-3.7 seconds. All versions will be equipped with a V8 5.0 liter supercharged  engine, which comes from Lexus LS600h. Transmission also will be a hybrid and will benefit from the contribution of two electric motors.  The electric motor on the front axle, will help for braking, and  he will capture the kinetic energy lost during this process.
