Facebook is growing and now the leaders of the social-networking website want to build a phone. It’s not the first time we’ve heard rumors of a Facebook phone, but it’s the first time actual details of it are released by a tipster.

One of the BGR ninjas who leaked the details, claim that people working at this project are not calling it the Facebook phone, probably because it will fall into a new category of devices. The media-called Facebook phone will have a built-in GPS which that will be always on. A location-aware service will track you everywhere you go and if you will be near a store, then it will immediately notify you that there are some deals available.

The location-aware Facebook phone will also support Facebook Places and it will automatically check-in and share your current location with your FB buddies. The source says that the Facebook phone will not have built-in storage as everything will be stored in the cloud – media, contacts, data, videos, and basically everything you can store on a device.

Like most portable devices nowadays, it will have a camera, though like said, the pictures and videos will be stored in the cloud and in the same time, automatically uploaded to your Facebook account. The Facebook phone will support a ticker-like notification service which will send all your messages and FB notifications into a global inbox.

The rumors regarding the Facebook don’t end here as City A.M is reporting that HTC is going to release two Facebook phones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. So HTC is working closely with Facebook on two devices, and that’s not surprising at all considering the fact that HTC was the first to release an Android phone and the first to release a Google phone, so why won’t it be the first to release a Facebook phone?

There isn’t a long wait until the Mobile World Congress when we will see two HTC Facebook phones. Anybody else excited?

HTC Flyer

HTC is going to debut on the tablet market in 2011 and the first slate that will be released by the company will be called Flyer. The HTC Flyer will be a low-end tablet, but the Taiwan-based company needs to test the waters before entering the slate competition therefore a single-core, 7-inch tablet will be just enough for the momeny.

The company’s tablet will be powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU found in many smartphones, Qualcomm’s MSM8255, a 7-inch 1024 x 600 touchscreen, 1.3MP camera in the front for video chat and Skype video call support, 5MP camera on the back, 4GB of built-in memory with additional support for microSD card, 3G support, HDMI port, DLNA streaming, a capacitive-friendly stylus, a tablet-enhance Sense UI, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

These specs aren’t very impressive and I don’t think that HTC will sell too many units. The tablet needs no more testing as iPad, Samsung, and others have ensured that people will buy these products.

Anyway rumors coming all the from Norway also say that HTC will launch a 10-inch slate with 4G LTE support soon after the Flyer’s launch. We think that this is the long-expected HTC Scribe tablet, but some new bits of information would be required before jumping into conclusions.

The XDA-Developers forum is probably the biggest hacking community in the world and these guys have manged to do another amazing thing with the HTC HD2! They’re managed to dual-boot Android and Windows Phone 7. Previously, HTC HD2 owners were able to dual-boot WinMo 6.5 and Android or WinMo 6.5 and Windows Phone 7, but thanks a very risky thing, they can install Android and WP7 on the same microSD card.

Being abandoned by Microsoft, the HTC HD2 has proven to be very hackable and it has evolved into a developers phone who can test their crazy ideas on this smartphone. Earlier today we reported that the Motorola Xoom price will be $699.99 as suggested by the leaked Best Buy inventory. Well, things might be a little different at Verizon where the Android 3.0 Honeycomb-powered tablet will cost $799.99. And that’s the starting price!

A tipster has sent this pic of the Verizon inventory and you can clearly see that the Motorola Xoom will cost at least $799.99. $100 is not a major difference but things change if you’re talking about $699.99 which is already a high amount. Sure, the Motorola Xoom deserves this price tag considering what it packs, but what if Apple’s iPad 2 will cost at most $799.99? That won’t help Verizon’s sales!

The Verizon document also says that the map price will be available between January 21st and July 21st, but I don’t see the Motorola Xoom anywhere so things might change. In addition to that, the HTC Thunderbolt 4G price will be $249.99.

Well, we’re waiting for Verizon to release these devices so please hurry up dear Big Red!

Well, well, well what do we have here? It’s the first mention of an upcoming and unannounced Windows Phone 7 device: HTC Arrive which is codenamed Ruby. HTC has filed for the trademark of this device and sadly there are no other details expect that it will become available in the US courtesy of Sprint.

Current Windows Phone 7 devices need to have a 1GHz processor, a camera on the back with 720p video recording, 800×480 touchscreen, and three buttons (Back, Menu, Search), therefore I am very curious to see what will the next-gen WP7 family will bring to the market.

Will the HTC Arrive come packed with a dual-core processor? What about DLNA streaming? Xvid support without needing to convert the files?

We will probably get the answers in the following weeks and for the moment let’s take a look at the logo below which brings the HTC Arrive along with the Kyocera Echo. Is this another Windows Phone 7 device? That’s very likely, but sadly there are no other details about the smartphone. So many questions, so little time… Stay tuned, more to come soon!

HTC has been very quiet at CES 2011 therefore we expect a very noisy MWC next month in Barcelona. The HTC roadmap for 2011 has been leaked by PocketNow and there are 6 devices waiting to be released by the Taiwan-based company. There are a bunch of Android smartphones and a couple of Brew MP devices, quite possibly the successors of the not so popular HTC Smart.

Looking at these pictures we have to say that HTC will release smartphones with displays ranging from 3.2-inch to 4.3-inch, though we could see the company releasing phone with bigger screens in order to complete against the like of 4.5-inch Samsung Super AMOLED Plus smartphones.

I was surprised to see a button-less HTC smartphone and if it were to ask me, then this fact means two things: first, this is not a Windows Phone 7 device, and second, this is a Android 3.0 Honeycomb-powered smartphone. Android Honeycomb is built for tablets and most of them won’t have buttons so you see where I’m going with this one.

The HTC 7 Pro has been released earlier this week by O2 Germany and if you were wondering when will the smartphone hit other markets, then the answer comes from the handset-maker itself who says that it should hit UK in February.

The HTC 7 Pro specs include a 1GHz processor, built-in 8GB, 512MB RAM, 3.6-inch 800×480 touchscreen, sliding QWERTY keyboard, 5-megapixel camera on the back with HD video recording, and Windows Phone 7. HTC also announced that the Gratia will also become available in the UK.

The HTC Gratia is the European version of the Aria and it’s powered by a 600MHz CPU, 3.2-inch 320 x 480 touchscreen, Android 2.2 Froyo, HTC Sense UI, and HTC Friendstream support.

This Android device will be exclusively in Pearl White flavor, and sadly HTC failed to mention any carrier partners or prices, though we’re happy that these devices received an official launch timeline.

HTC didn’t reveal any tablets at the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 but the situation will be different at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. DigiTimes is reporting that the Taiwan-based company will release an Android 2.3 Honeycomb tablet in March which is sooner than the launch dates of the Motorola Xoom, BlackBerry PlayBook, and Apple iPad 2 which should all be released in April.

Digitimes added that the tablet will be called HTC Flyer and that it will be upgradeable to Android 3.0 Honeycomb soon after launch. There are no other rumored specs of the HTC Flyer, but it is said that two other HTC tablets will be released in June 2011 and we have a hunch that one of them is the HTC Scribe.

HTC is now an established smartphone maker and it’s selling the highest number of Android smartphones and it’s also a best seller when it comes to Windows Phone 7 devices. 2011 is the perfect time for HTC to enter the tablet market, but the company needs a perfect strategy and we shouldn’t rule out Windows-based tablets.

The HTC Thunderbolt was supposed to become the smartphone of your dreams, but that thought quickly faded away when the Motorola Atrix 4G and Droid Bionic were unveiled. The HTC Thunderbolt 4G will be released sooner by Verizon than the aforementioned Motorola devices and that could be an advantage for HTC. And add this to the fact that the smartphone will support simultaneous voice and data services.

This hasn’t been officially confirmed by Verizon or HTC, but Android Central leaked a photo which suggest that HTC Thunderbolt 4G users will be able to use both voice and data services in 4G areas. The HTC Thunderbolt 4G will become the first Verizon smartphone to support simultaneous voice and data therefore we expect many other devices to follow the trend and by that we mean that all 4G devices should have this feature.

The HTC 7 Pro release date has become official and it’s sooner than previously thought. The HTC 7 Pro is available today at O2 Germany and it’s going to cost you €599 if you don’t sign a new two-year contract. O2 Germany comes with a nice offer for those who want to sign a new agreement and says that the’re going to pay €29 now and €22.50 monthly for two years.

The HTC 7 Pro is the first Windows Phone 7 device with a sliding QWERTY keyboard and in the US it’s going to become available at Sprint as soon as WP7 becomes compatible with CDMA networks.

Just in case you were wondering, the HTC 7 Pro spec sheet consists of a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.6-inch touchscreen with 800×480 resolution, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and 720p HD video recording, built-in 8GB memory, 512MB ROM, 512MB RAM, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, a complete array of sensors, and a 1,500mAh battery.
