Dodge Viper will become safer and easier to handle once new generation debuts. The Dodge CEO announced that the model will have its own platform and engine.

Ralph Gilles, the new Dodge CEO, made a series of statements clarifying the future of Dodge Viper. Thereby, the model will be completely revised, and will not be based on another platform of the Fiat-Chrysler Group. So the rumors regarding a Dodge Viper based on Alfa Romeo 8C or any other model in the Alfa Romeo yard have been ruled out. Although he admitted that there are some similarities between Viper and Alfa Romeo 8C, the Dodge CEO underlined that the American model has an unique conformation, being among the few models these days having such a long hood and the cockpit located in the rear.

The engine of the 2012 Dodge Viper is not coming from Ferrari, but is not clear whether it is a whole new engine or a revised version of he 8.4-liter V10 SFI engine. In exchange, the guys of Fiat will take a look at Viper’s dynamics. The model will receive a stability control system, feature not found on current generation. Dodge Viper fans were enjoying this particular element, because it allowed them to differentiate from the drivers of the other models, that weren’t capable of controlling the model in tight situations without any electronic help. The first generation Dodge Viper didn’t even had ABS.

The stability control system was added for two reasons. On the one hand, the USA and European regulations will require all automakers to use it on all new vehicles. On the other hand, Dodge wants to make the model more accessible to those that weren’t able to tame the American supercar. In exchange, some of the Dodge Viper enthusiasts are afraid that the model will not be aggressive anymore, but Gilles added that he is a Viper fan and likes competition, so he tells the fans to expect a naughty version of the model.

New Dodge Charger generation was presented by the American officials and will debut on the market in next months. The European debut has not been announced yet.

The Dodge officials have presented the first images of new Charger generation. The model will make its commercial debut later this year, and the Europeans could get in 2011. The changes made are important, targeting the exterior, the interior and the range of engines. This is the second Dodge model launched under the patronage of the guys from Fiat, but the Italians have not started to put their stamp on it yet, since the model was in development when they took over the Chrysler Corporation.

Dodge Charger received a new front grille, new front bumper, a different profile and LED taillights. The design of taillights reminiscent of the 1969 model and the model incorporates 164 LEDs. Among the new Charger design elements stand out and the trapezoidal exhausts and new headlights, both having a much more aggressive aspect. Regarding the interior, the guys from Dodge have announced that the model has received a three-spoke sport steering wheel with high quality materials.

Charger can be equipped with new V6 3.6-liter Pentastar engine, with either a V8 5.7-liter Hemi engine. The officials have not revealed details about the performance of the new model yet, but inside sources announced an power of 305 HP and 268 lb-ft of torque on the V6 unit and 379 HP and 410 lb-ft of torque on the V8 unit. Dodge offer the Charger model with rear-wheel drive and four wheel drive. The four wheel drive system is optional and has an active transfer case that can decouple the front axle when is not needed to extra grip to reduce the fuel consumption.

 American supercar engine will hide under the hood an engine  able to offer 700 HP.

After reaching in the garages of 25,000 customers worldwide, from 1992 to present, Dodge Viper supercar,  an iconic model for the American automaker, has said this year goodbye to his fans.  Not for long however, because the American automaker intends to launch a new generation with Italian partner Fiat.

The first sign of cooperation between the two parties could come just over two years, when in a major auto show overseas, Dodge will display concept which anticipates the next generation Viper.

To cope with the current competition in the   exotic models segment, the supercar will need a powerful engine capable of delivering unbeatable performance, but accpetabil consumption. But Americans will not fall prey to eco temptation and will keep under the body  a  gasoline engine, ten-cylinder V and an impressive capacity of  8.4 liters.  The engine will have the latest direct injection technology and will be able to deliver a total of 700 HP, while obeying the rules of  pollution.

The chassis will not be completely changed, but there is a considerable improvement of the steering and maneuverability implicitly.  Traditional spirit it will be not affected, the driver will have a manual box and   security system that can be completely disable . Unofficially sources  announces even a partnership with Ferrari in this area, the Italians will advise on the development of electronic control systems.

Dodge could launch an entry-level version of its Viper, driven by a V8 engine with something more modest performance.

New Dodge Durango is the first model of the American brand which receiving the new logo and a new identity of the automaker owned by Chrysler concern.

The American from Chrysler showed the first pictures of new Dodge Durango. Before here nothing interesting, because we speak about a model destinate for the USA market. The Durango model is important because it is the first that submit the new Dodge brand identity and its new logo. Thus, from the old logo used until some time ago, the guys from Dodge have switched to a black cross surrounded by chrome.

The exterior of the new Dodge Durango shows interesting lines for an American model and provides an aggressive appearance, but contemporary. What does this mean? Is probably that the Dodge models could be sold on the European market, and the models that will reach could have a similar issue like the original Durango. Compared with that what the American automaker presented so far, we can say that we see one of the few appealing SUVs from Dodge.

In addition of the new self-supporting body, Dodge Durango has new engines. We talking about a Pentastar V6 unit and 3.6-liter, which can travel 500 miles with a full and a V8 5.7-liter engine configured by HEMI. Despite the appearances, the MDS system of this engine allows to turn off four of its eight cylinders to save fuel. The commercial debut will take place in the last quarter of 2010.

Chrysler show us the limited edition of Dodge Challenger MOPAR, a fireball which invoking the spirit of the true muscle car easily.

MOPAR, the performance division of Chrysler  leaves its mark on the Dodge Challenger muscle car, resulting a special edition that captures the true essence as possible of the current which reached its zenith in the early of ’70s.

Specifically, Dodge Challenger MOPAR have a retro look, helped by the fact that the Dodge Challenger muscle car is the most classic of the moderately aggressive because the black paint expresses the brute force, thanks to the huge scoop in the hood. The only thing that can be customized to Challenger MOPAR is the color stripes on the side – blue, red or silver – all models come with the same equipment.

The interior comes with the same Katzikin custom black leather on the seats, assorted stitches seems the exterior stripes, a particular steering wheel and a custom gear shifter. We insist on it because the manual version has a strange ending as possible, pretty so much like a pistol grip.

In technical plan nothing has changed and under the hood it is the same power of V8 HEMI 5.7-liter and put down 381 HP. The price of this version is not great, MOPAR Challenger costing $38,000 or $39,000 with automatic transmission. Only 500 units will be produced and marketed, all for United States.

Dodge changes the logo of the road models, which are grouped in SRT brand. The new logo draws some more dynamism and sportiness.

After Chrysler has officially decided to separate the off-road division by the Dodge street cars, the Americans presented the new logo that will appear on all Dodge road models division overseas. If the off-road vehicles, grouped in Ram brand will carry the same logo with a stylized ram, the road cars, grouped in SRT brand will display the new logo, which aims to highlight those cars which are destinate to a group of models with youth or sports target.

“It signifies our sporty character.” said Ralph Gilles, president of Dodge. The logo is a plain standing out by the two red diagonal lines parallel to be drawn to the right of a logotype created with a new point font.

According to preliminary information, the two red stripes will now be “stamped” of the American brand, will be displayed in all promotional materials of the SRT brand. The first model that will receive the new logo image is the next generation of Dodge Charger. The slashes won’t appear on Dodge vehicles, however – only on signage and print materials. As it is rolled out in dealer showrooms.

Dodge comes at Detroit Auto Show 2010 only with new packages  and special editions of the current line-up. Of these, the new Dodge Nitro and it’s three packages points out : Heat, Detonator and Shock.

In 2010, the guys from Dodge say that they have removed the word “basic equipment” from their vocabulary, as many options become standard equipment in new equipment versions. This also works for Dodge Journey, Caliber and, especially, Nitro, which promises to attract the most visitors to the Dodge stand at Detroit 2010.

The last one becomes interesting at least in terms of new equipment levels, the names bending with the name of the car: Heat, Detonator and Shock. Nitro Heat will have very interesting  standard features as 20″ wheels, 9″ audio system with subwoofer and 368 watts or tinted windows and some other facilities which were previously optional.

Nitro Detonator will stand out thanks to body color, the Yellow Clear Coat, which is part of a range of nine shades they offer for Nitro. Detonator will come with Mopar wheels 20″ or interior trim in keeping with the exterior, and Nitro Shock will add to the list of standard features an electric sunroof or heated seats.

All packages are available with the 4.0-liter V6 engine that was upgraded to 260 HP and 265 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. In America, the prices for new released Dodge Nitro versions are between $23,995 and $26,995.
