[Video] Elaion, A Subaru Forester For Dakar 2010 – That’s More Like It

Subaru is set to comeback in the rally world, changing the gravel with the desert sand, and presents us the Subaru Forester that will race in the Dakar 2010.

Subaru Forester will be the model sent by the Japanese automaker in Argentina and Chile at this year’s Dakar Rally 2010. For now we can see it in action, but the Japanese are very restrained when it comes to unveiling technical data. We only know that will be build by the guys from Barattero Motorsport Group, Subaru’s affiliate in South America, under STI’s guidance, and that for coping with nasty roads (if that sea of sand can be called road), will feature a new rebuilt suspension. Besides this, most of the Forester’s body will be made of carbon fiber, but we know nothing about the engine.

One sure thing is, for now, that this prototype will be called Subaru-Elaion and that it the Japanese Yoshiu Ikemachi and the Argentinian Gabriel Pozzo will drive it. This year’s Dakar will be held between 1-17 January, so we still have to wait some more until we see this Subaru entering the competition. Until then all we can do is watch this video of an unleashed Subaru-Elaion.
