Infiniti has released the first pictures and information of the new G37 Coupe IPL, the model performance of the Japanese version. IPL sign becomes the Japanese counterpart of the Germans from AMG, M and RS.

Infiniti will launch this weekend, in Elegance Contest from Peeble Beach, a special version of the Infiniti G37 Coupe model, recognized as IPL.The abbreviation comes from Infinity Performance Line, a new division that Japanese created to rival the famous names on the European market: Mercedes AMG and Audi RS BMW M Division.

The first product of the Infiniti division’s performance brings to the G37 coupe more power under the hood, an improved suspension and more individualistic design.

The V6 3.7-liter engine, found under the hood was modified to provide 352 HP and 277 lb-ft of torque. Infiniti claims that power is delivered much more linear rear axle. List of mechanical changes include a IPL revised exhaust , a more rigid suspension  20% in front and 10% in back , recalibrated shock absorbers, a more intuitive direction and a non-slip differential.

At the outside, the Infiniti G37 IPL Coupe proposes revised front and rear spoilers, some larger bosses, side skirts, a discreet spoiler on the trunk and a chrome exhaust. Esthetic package is completed by two types of wheels,both 19-inch, specially designed for the IPL, with seven-spoke and two available colors: Graphite Shadow and Malbec Black.

For the interior, customers will have red or gray, leather seats, aluminum inlays, audio system signed by Bose, navigation system with hard drive, voice recognition and a driver seat memory function.

Japanese performance model is expected to be found until later this year on the U.S. market, but is currently unclear whether the IPL unit will reach the old continent.

Thanks to Carscoop, we can share images of the latest patents VW filled in. It seems that they are planning a Jetta Coupe, which would be pleasant additions to the line-up. Sure, this is nothing official, the German maker filled these patent that you can see right here for a “New Compact Coupe”.

Since that concept, the New Compact Car thing, was shown at the Detroit Auto Show, changes have been applied. An image of this showroom concept  is below this paragraph. It may be hard to notice considering that those are real life high-quality photos and these just greyish patent images, but still we point out the traditional-style grille and exhaust. The shade of the car indicates that it could be offered diesel, gas and even hybrid to the world once it’s finished. As a Jetta Coupe or not.

Volkswagen New Compact Coupe, at Detriot

In our opinion it’s most likely that this is indeed going to be (approx) how the new Jetta Coupe from Volkswagen is going to look like. Probably to be a 2011 model, this car is sure to be a huge success, and the United States needs such a coupe – with decent dimensions unlike the rather slim Scirocco.

Chevrolet Camaro Convertible keep pace with trends in communication and be present through social media.

The Chevrolet Camaro convertible model is expected for some time and occurred where old-fashioned journalists less than that is expected on Facebook. There, on the homepage of the model were published these two pictures that we see little of the new version. There are more descriptive images, but probably kept until the “shoulder” as would be expected, the lines of coupe version.

These are the series pictures, the Camaro convertible concept that originally appeared in 2008, but the crisis has taken this project on stand by for some time. Have also been problems with supplier fabric roof which stopped the project until to settlement of accounts.

The launch will be officiated just say that in March 2011 indicate that this project does not go very smoothly, the gap is pretty big for a derivative of an existing model.

We expect to more pictures and technical specifications with the Camaro convertible. The biggest problem with the cars without roof is stability. We hope that Chevrolet will work to this problem and the cars will have a good stability, because a car should not be just beautiful, but must also have good performance.

Infiniti has been selling its upmarket wares in the U.S. for two decades and to commemorate the occasion its releasing three special edition G37 coupes, sedans and convertibles.

Premium and Navigation packages for the anniversary special editions, and other features include Monaco Red interior, maple trim and a sexy Graphite Shadow exterior, heated and cooled seats, summer rubber, a blacked-out grille, new side sills and revised fascias, with a standard rear spoiler on the coupe and sedan. This is indeed a limited edition, as only 200 vehicles will be manufactured for each model.

The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP)* for the four available 2010 Infiniti G Anniversary Editions are:

G37 Sedan Anniversary Edition $43,350 USD
G37 Sedan AWD Anniversary Edition $43,550 USD

G37 Convertible Anniversary Edition $54,900 USD

The Anniversary Editions are based on the G Sedan Journey and AWD, G Coupe Journey and G Convertible and come standard with a 3.7-liter V6 engine and 7-speed automatic transmission. Premium and Navigation Packages are included on all of the Anniversary Editions.
The Anniversary Edition Sedans and Coupe also receive the Sport Package and 4-Wheel Active Steer (not available on Sedan AWD). The Convertible is offered with the highly desirable climate-controlled seats.

BMW is preparing to launch a facelift of the coupe and convertible versions of its 3 Series. Besides the new design, they receive updates of the standard and optional equipment.

BMW has operated a facelift on the 3 Series Coupe and Convertible model, after the example of the 3 Series Sedan. The two versions of 3 Series, with the E92 and E93 chassis codes will receive new bumpers, with a more sporty design, LED taillights and subtle changes in the interior. At certain levels of equipment they will also get some significant changes.

All 335i models that were equipped with M-Sport Package or Sport Package will now have 19 inch light alloy wheels in the facelift version, unlike the initial version, in which were 18 inch wheels. BMW will offer its clients the opportunity to choose new colors both on the outside and the inside, which will include bamboo ornaments painted in anthracite shade.

The system switching between main beam and dipped beam will be added to the list of optional and the 3  Series facelift will be equipped with new paddles, which runs on the pull/pull system, meaning that the one in the left of the seering wheel change in the lower shift, while the one in the right changes in the higher shift. BMW 3 Series Facelift  is the first BMW that receives this facility, which will also be present on the new 5 Series F10. The BMW customers in the United States of America will receive a special version for them, called iS.

In 2010, BMW will give for testing a limited number of electric cars, derived from the 1 Series ActiveE concept, presented by the German brand on Thursday. The 100% electric concept can be recharged for 3 hours at a plug, his autonomy being of 100 miles, and the acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is done in nine seconds, the automaker announces. The 1 Series Coupe derived concept wheighs 3968 pounds and develops 170 HP, and its electric motor gathers his energy form to lithium-ion battery modules. The automaker say that the car hits 60 mph in nine seconds, but that the top speed is limited at 90 mph to preserve the batteries’ energy.

It is said that the car will make its debut in the beginning of the coming year, at the Detroit Auto Show, and in Europe it may be presented in Fall, at Paris. The electric car will be available for testing on certain markets, just like it happens with the electric version of the Mini, which is currently tested in Great Britain.

BMW present in the past months hybrid and 100% electric cars at the most important international auto shows, just like they did with the hybrid versions of the X6 and 7 Series.

Yesterday, we presented you some spy shots of the new 2011 BMW 5-Series. Now, it’s his young brother’s turn, the 2010 BMW 3-Series CC, to be in caught in action. Errr… maybe action is not the right word for what happened with the 3 Series, because he was parked somewhere on the sidewalk of a street in Germany.

We don’t see to many changes of the new 3-Series CC model except for the front side, where it seems that it will be some minor modifications around the kidney grille area. The headlights are covered with tape, so we hope to see some pictures with the tape off before expressing our opinion.

The rear will get remodeled taillights and some minor bumper changes, but nothing dramatic. After Bangle left the BMW, it seems that the Germans are trying to get some fresh air in the design area, because it is rumored that the sedan and touring, expected to appear next year, will get this look too.

Car enthusiasts all over the world the car of your dreams just arrived. It’s the new Lexus LF-A. Murcielago, 458 Italia, SLS? Forget about them. The perfect big boy’s toy has arrived. Some of us even got to test it. Lucky bastards. 4.8-liters V10, 550 hp, 218 mph. Wow, orgasmic. I believe this will be the ultimate supercar once it hits the market. It’s a masterpiece and the guys form Lexus have now something to be really proud of.

Still, there are two problems: it costs £250,000 and it will only be 500 pieces of it.

On the track some guys did some great things with this car. And their feedback was just what Lexus expected to see. Now they surely believe their work was not in vain. The journalists from autocar.co.uk got behind the wheel. What was the result? you can see in this video. The LF-A’s body was well disguised, but performances can’t be hidden behind some nice colored paper.

The pretty new Mini Coupe concept

It is finally official: BMW are gearing up again and paying some attention to the Mini brand. The new Mini Coupe concept will be displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month, but a taste of the goodness to come is here already.

Seen by many as the queen of small cars, the Mini  is in some ways considered the British equivalent to its German contemporary, the Volkswagen Beetle, which enjoyed similar popularity in North America. In 1999 the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th Century, behind the Ford Model T.

Mini Coupe 2009 concept

The up-coming model is way cooler than expected, at least at first glance. Unlike the original coupe of the Sixties that simply had a fastback replacement for the standard square-back roof, the new MINI Coupé Concept completely replaces everything from the beltline up. Freshened roof covers are also worth mentioning. Not trying to be a four-seater anymore is all but good news in my opinion for Mini fans, and the new model could have so more cargo room like the Cabrio or just use that space for designing a more solid, robust structure in the back side of the car. As we all know only too well, safety is the No. 1 asset in a modern car. At this point, it’s unknown if those B-pillars are are tinted glass or just big solid blind spots, but visually, the lower half of the car remains pretty standard R56 John Cooper Works.

Mini Coupe 2009 concept

Regarding the interior of the new Mini Coupe concept car, there is scarcely any info to be spread yet. One can notice however the two hanging clocks ff the sides of the steering column mounted tachometer much like the so-called “Openometer” in the convertible.

All in all this is real good news in the somewhat gray auto-world these months, and I say it looks pretty cute. What do you think? Take a look at the pictures and decide for yourself.
