New Chevrolet Corvette C8 Will Have The Engine Positioned Centrally

The GM officials would like that the eighth generation of Corvette to have a V6 engine, positioned centrally.

The Chevrolet Corvette fans will soon enjoy the eight generation of this model that will have a new design, more attractive and more aggressive. Also, the American officials are preparing a bigger surprise for the brand fans. In an interview with the Saab engineers, the Swedes said that they worked in collaboration with GM to a dual-clutch transmission, a transmission for a Corvette model which engine will be positioned centrally.

The gearbox has been designed to support a torque of 590 lb-ft, with 15 lb-ft less than the current generation of the American model. There were rumors that Chevrolet completed since 2008 the project for a Corvette with an engine positioned centrally, but it was canceled due to unfortunate financial situation at General Motors.

The latest rumor coming from the giant American court saying that the eighth generation of Corvette will debut in five years, and their model will have an engine positioned centrally. In current conditions, when most automakers have a downsizing policy, the GM officials want to give up to the V8 6.2-liter engine for a V6 engine, assisted by turbochargers.

It seem that the new Corvette will be more aggressive with a small engine. This is a legend and I hope that the Corvette models will not die never.
