Starting this week, BMW M6 is no longer manufactured.  The news comes after the factory announced in July “death” of M5.  Not only pollution rules are to blame but the fact that BMW is preparing the next generation M5 and M6 in November. They will most likely be seen at the Paris Motor Show.

BMW  has produced a total of 14,152 M6 units, of which 9,087 coupe and 5,065 convertible.  They were manufactured from 2005 until now. BMW has already stopped producing the engine’s Motorsport division, that gorgeous V10 high speed, a 507 HP  5.0 liter aspirated.

Main market for the two models M6 coupe and convertible was the United States, followed by Germany and England.  M5 sales were more numerous, they counting over 20,000 cars in five years, including nearly 2,000 units of the station wagon version of the M5, which is touring.

The next generation 6-Series will be unveiled in September at the Paris Auto Show. It will feature a new front bumper with a massive air dam, reshaped headlights, a more prominent double kidney grille, and a redesigned rear-end. Under the hood BMW is rumored to keep the same engine as the current model. The only change will be the 4.8 Liter V8 that will replace the smaller 400 HP 4.4 Liter turbocharged V8 from the BMW 750i.

A sad news, but we all expect the new generation M5 and M6, based on the new BMW 5 Series and 6 Series.
