During this year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit a new feature (`bout time!) will be the electric cars section. The auto show is taking place a  Cobo Center in Detroit and opens to the press on Jan. 11th and to the public on January 16th.

Moreover, sources report that the 2010 Detroit auto show, organizers will unveil a 37,000-square-foot feature, called Electric Avenue, on Cobo Center’s mainfloor.

NAIAS Chairman Doug Fox:

“Electric Avenue is going to be a unique feature of the 2010 NAIAS that will enable us to educate a diverse audience about the long-term viability of the auto industry using a subject that is top of mind globally these days,”

The Detroit show organizers show good management skills, as part of the funds for this section are from Dow Chemical Co, as a sponsorship. But your eyes can look upon more than just electric car of the momentum, the section will also include technologies that reduce energy consumption, such as lightweight materials, batteries and other gadgets related to the electric car concept.
