Alfa Romeo At Paris Auto Show 2010
Alfa Romeo will exhibit at Paris Auto Show 2010 a diesel version of the Giulietta model, new TCT transmission with dual-clutch, but also a 2.0 JTDM with 136 HP for 159.
Paris Auto Show will not bring any startling concept for Alfa Romeo, which already accustomed the fans with their creations to celebrating the centenary. Instead, the Italians will focus only on the expand of the engines of existing models.
Alfa Romeo Giulietta
The Fiat subsidiary stand will include two new versions of the Giulietta model, the compact that already enjoying by the success in Europe. For those who wanted a slightly more powerful diesel, was introduced the 2.0 JTDM version, capable to delivering 140 HP and a torque of 258 lb-ft, available early enough, at only 1,750 rpm. The unit is remarkable and by the consumption good figure, only 52 mi/gal in mixed cycle, but also by lower emissions, only 119 g / 0.6 mile.
The other innovation of the Italians, based on Giulietta, is the 1.4 gasoline MultiAir turbo version, with 170 HP, aided by an entirely new transmission, which the automaker attempts to introduce gradually in the range. It’s talking about the TCT automatic transmission with dual-clutch, which comes with a new start-stop system.
Under these conditions, the gasoline unit emissions decrease to 121 g /0.6 mile. In the future, the Alfa fans can choose the TCT transmission and on the diesel version, a 2.0 JTDM with 170 HP.
Also on the Alfa stand, the public will have the opportunity to see the entry-level diesel version, the 1.6-liter JTDM and 105 HP, able to consuming just 63.5 mi/gal in the extra-urban cycle, while promising a torque of 236 lb-ft. Will not miss the Quadrifoglio Verde version with 235 HP.
Alfa Romeo MiTo
New twin-clutch transmission, TCT, will debut also on MiTo model, specifically on the 1.4 MultiAir version with 135 HP. The ensemble, which allows a sprint from 0-60 mph in 8.2 seconds, comes with a start-stop system, that reduces the CO2 emissions to 126 g / 0.6 mile and a 33,1 mi/gal consumption. The values are better than the version equipped with manual gear box, which consumes 31.7 mi/gal and emits 129 g / 0.6 mile.
Alfa Romeo 159
Also on the Alfa Romeo stand will accommodate the revised version of the 159 model, in Sedan and Sport Wagon body versions. The Italian model has received a change interior, several packages of personalization, but also a new diesel engine, 2.0 JTDM with 136 HP, able to respect the Euro5 standards.
The unit will be hidden under a 159 Sport Wagon body, colored in Rosso Competizione, while the sedan will be presented with a package of TI accessories.
