Alfa Romeo have been talking about this big move in their marketing plan for some time now. Targeting a hugely ambitious 100k units sale, the Giulietta can be finally seen in close-to-final pictures. Scroll down for the photo gallery of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. More in the press release after the photo gallery of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

The Giulietta replaces the 147, being Alfa Romeo’s competitor for the popular European Golf from VW. Owner company Fiat also has the Bravo, so the Golf might be seeing some serious fights in the coming year. As you can see in the pictures, major design lines are taken from the 8C Competizione, with a more sporty and agile feel however. A perfect hatchback for those of you who love a sport drive feeling but wouldn’t spend money on something too out of the line. If you’re thinking the name is a bit corny, here is some Alfa-Romeo trivia: The Giulietta car was manufactured by the Italian car maker Alfa Romeo from 1954 to 1965. The first model was a coupe, followed by a sedan. The cars rocked in the 60s and everyone kept wondering when a comeback will be planned.

So it’s new meets old, all in an Italian flavourish mix. What about power? A range of transverse four-cylinder engines – both gasoline and diesel – will be on offer, producing between 120 and 170 horsepower. Computer managed start/stop is included, and so is and Alfa’s DNA adjustable suspension system. Fiat’s cutting-edge MultiAir valve-actuation system will eventually find its way into all of the engines, while the selection of five- and six-speed manual gearboxes is set to be joined by a new dual-clutch transmission as well.

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta will be launched in special phased marketing move across Europe starting next year. We’re not sure when, but we do not that the Giulietta will be smiling to fellows at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Be warned, Italian women have been knows to cause heart disease..Might happen the same with girl-named cars.

The automaker is planing to launch some of the Alfa Romeo and Fiat models on the US market.

Even though nothing is official until early next month when Chrysler is set to reveal its five-year plans, it seems that we will see nothing new in the next two years, except for a revamped Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300.

According to the source, the Americans will get to enjoy the Fiat 500 starting 2011, till then, the car will get some modifications to meet the US environmental and safety requirements. It is also said that the tiny 500 will be made in a factory located in Mexico.

All three models will be build in North America.

It is also said that using a Fiat platform, Chrysler will build a small family car and a midsize sedan. A total aberration is the rumor saying that Dodge will drop the Caliber, Nitro and Avenger, but we will live to see if it happens or not .

Even before the Alfa Romeo Milano prototype was spied during a police stop in Germany there were rumors that the Italian car will arrive in North America. It seems now that the story has a different end.

The collaboration between Chrysler and Fiat group was confirmed, a fact that makes us think that US will have to deal an inflation of Alfa Romeo past and future models. The Italian’s little bug, Fiat 500, is already expected to arrive in North America at the Chrysler dealers, so why not expect the Alfa models to hit their showrooms too?

Recent rumors also say that a replacement for the Alfa Romeo 166 will be built in the US. Other sources say that the replacement of the Alfa 159 will arrive on the North American market somewhere around 2012 and that replacement will be Giulia. If so, it seems that MiTo and his five-doored cousin Milano will be left back home and will have as main target the European market.

Probably the Fiat group foreign policy does not see the US as a potential market for their two-door, respective four-door hatches. Even so the Americans will get a nice looking sedan that will replace the five years old Alfa Romeo 159.

Alfa Romeo is the Italian automaker known for making one of nicest-looking cars. A few days ago the German Police stopped one of their test mules, and later it was proven that the prototype was the new Alfa Romeo Milano. This is the funniest spy shoots story I’ve ever heard.

The Alfa Romeo Milano is dubbed to be the replacer of the five-door version of the Alfa 147, like MiTo is for the three-door variant. Rumors say that the Alfa Romeo Milano is expected to debut in March, at the Geneva show and that the Italians want to ship it in North America too.

We really don’t know the reason why the German Police stopped the car somewhere near Nurburgirng, but all we can see is that even the police officers were admiring the car that is set to follow the MiTo and 8C Competizione design lines.
