Next year at Geneva Auto Show we could see the first Ferrari hybrid. New generation of 612 Scaglietti is the main candidate for the environmental technology exposure.

Luca di Montezemolo, the Ferrari president, said in an interview granted this year, that the hybrid technology developed in the Italian automaker laboratories will be ready for mass production in 2014.

The latest information contradict the official Ferrari declaration, the first public meeting with the hybrid propulsion train to be held next spring. Then, Ferrari will present at the Geneva Motor Show, the new generation of Scaglietti and with this model and the alternative propulsion system.

The rumors, circulated by the German magazine Autobild, announces a Scaglietti as a pioneer of hybrid technology series, certificate by Ferrari, being able to use the resources of a unit composed by a V12 engine and an electric one. According to self publication, on the previous axle will be a 12-cylinder engine and 550 HP, while the rear axle will host a power unit, designed to deliver 100 HP.

The resources baggage will help the Italian model to show off much better performance, while providing a fuel economy of about 35%, similar to that predicted by 599 Hy-Kers concept, at Geneva.

The successor of the four seats model, made in Maranello, is expected on the international market in mid of 2011, its price will be estimated at around $380,000. The hybrid engine will not be the only version.

The restructuring plan of Fiat Group reveals the future Ferrari models which prepare in the next three years. It’s talking about six new models, including an Enzo successor.

As promised in last months, Fiat Group present today a new restructuring plan under its dome. The first information disclosed after a few hours in Italy has to the forefront the “crown jewel” of the peninsula, namely Ferrari.

According to statements made today by “Prance Horse” officials, in the Ferrari luxury workshops will take birth six new models in the next three years. The next family member from Maranello will be a convertible version of the current 458 Italia, scheduled to reach in showrooms until 2011.

Also, is scheduled for next year a new version of the 612 Scaglietti supercar, powered by an enhanced version of the V12 unit. The supercar will soon take place for a new successor and is baptized with the F151 codename, able to introduce on market a series hybrid version.

Over two years Ferrari will reaffirm its leading position in the segment of supercars with a new range top, a descendant of the famous Enzo. The supercar will be as exclusive as its predecessor, which was produced in only 400 copies, and will be powered by a V12 high-performance engine, which does not know very many details yet.

Also in 2012, Ferrari preparing a new version for the current 599 GTB Fiorano, known as F152 code. No current Ferrari California will not be forgotten, the Italians planning a major facelift, which would begin in early 2013. Finally, the last model which Scuderia wanted to talk today is based also on 458 Italy. It is a version of its performance, worthy of receiving the Scuderia indicative from its predecessor or 430.

Today, in the press conference, Ferrari continued claimed the idea of separation between its Sport models and the Gran-Tourer, which means we will not see compromises between 458 and 599 or between 612 and California.

Ferrari aims to keep also on the further, only four models in its range: 458 Italia, 612 Scaglietti, 599 GTB Fiorano and California. Enzo did not fall into this category, being a special model, not one of the standard range.

Recently, we heard that Ferrari is looking to replace some its V12 models. That sounded a bit insane in the first instance, but now things are getting serious. It seems that the 612 Scaglietti, the 599 GTB, and the Enzo are going to be substituted in the near future.

Some recent spy shots of a test mule looking like a 612 Scaglietti made us think that things are going bad for the ol’ Scaglietti. It’s nothing official so far, but in the early 2012 a replacement for the 612 Scaglietti is expected to drop. Test mules are known for looking bad, and this one makes no exception. We don’t know how to call it yet (because the Italians always surprise us and choose a romantic name for their supercars – passed founders or famous geographic regions), but we can already say that we like the exhausts borrowed from the California model.

Anyway, it is also rumored that the spied test mule has a longer wheelbase than its forerunner and that under the scooped hood is a new V12 environmental-friendly engine that pumps 7 hp more than the existent Ferrari 5.7-litre V12, reaching 540.

Here are some details about the new Scaglieti: new electrochromic panoramic roof which covers the whole roof. Glass roofs are becoming increasingly popular with auto manufacturers but the 612’s roof can be adjusted to allow differing levels of light into the cabin via the touch of a button.
