In an attempt to become world’s biggest automaker, Volkswagen aim to build 3 million vehicles underpinned by the MQB platform. While next Audi A3 is expected to drop in the summer of 2012, the new generation of VW Golf will be launched at the end of the same year, or the latest in the beginning of 2013.

The German publication Automobilwoche have quoted a source close to Martin Winterkorn announcing that Volkswagen Golf Mk VII will debut in November 2012. According to the source, the best selling compact car in Europe will come, in the seventh reincarnation in all Volkswagen dealerships starting the 11th month of 2012. The spokesman of Volkswagen Germany haven’t confirmed or ruled out the rumors. Unlike the Golf Mk VI, the new model will mean a radical change.

2010 Volkswagen Golf

The 2010 VW Golf is very alike the the Golf Mk V both aesthetically and technically, but Golf Mk VII will be different from the two models in both points of view. Like VW said, the launch of Golf VI was just an improvement of Golf V regarding the looks and fuel efficiency.
