Over the past few weeks we’ve heard that T-Mobile is preparing to launch the next-gen Sidekick smartphone and now it’s time to see a few of pics of the rumored device. The new T-Mobile Sidekick is manufactured by Samsung and it will support the carrier’s HSPA+ 4G network.

The T-Mobile Samsung Sidekick 4G will be powered by Android 2.2.1 OS, a tilting huge touchscreen, 5-row QWERTY keyboard, and a front-facing camera among others. At the moment there is no rumored release date for the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G, but we expect to see this baby on the market in the coming weeks.

If you are a fan of Sidekick devices, then you most surely will enjoy the big display and the fact that it will run Android. Also I think it’s an advantage that it will be produced by Samsung instead of Sharp or Motorola and that it won’t feature a swivel screen.

My faith in humanity is fading away and this process has been accelerated by the fact that Sony has been granted the restraining order against Geohot and the Fail0verflow team. The US District Court for the Northern District of California decided that Sony is right meaning that GeoHot and Fail0verflow cannot distribute the PS3 jailbreak method any longer, and in addition, they cannot encourage users to jailbreak their PS3.

Anyway Sony didn’t win anything yet because other people can still distribute and promote jailbreaking, and I’ve noticed that they won’t stop, and I doubt that Sony will sue thousands of people. The good thing is that jailbreaking is not illegal therefore we can continue to do the aforementioned stuff for as long as we want.

What I don’t understand, is how did Sony win this complaint. Like said: jailbreaking is not illegal so why would the US District Court for the Northern District of California grant a restraining order against Mr. George Hotz and Fail0verflow? More on this matter can be read here.

Today, Apple pushed an update for iTunes which has now reached version 10.1.2 and don’t be too alarmed because the software doesn’t bring something, it only packs support for the Verizon CDMA iPhone 4. It’s kinda early as the Verizon iPhone 4 release date is February 10th, but maybe Apple wants to avoid a traffic congestion of something.

The Cupertino-based company also put in some stability as well as some performance enhancements, though Apple failed to mention what will work faster or better. If the Apple Software Updater didn’t ping you already, then you can check yourself for new updates accessing the aforementioned software updater.

Remember the BlackBerry Malibu name leaked earlier today? It’s supposed to be the next-gen BlackBerry Curve and it will most likely be called Curve Touch. Well, the Curve is appreciated by many because it doesn’t have high-end aspirations and because it’s reasonably priced and if you will read the specs of the BlackBerry Curve Touch, then it might become your next smartphone.

The BlackBerry Curve Touch specs include a 800MHz Qualcomm CPU, 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, 512MB RAM, 1GB built-in storage with microSD card slot support, GPS, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, NFC capabilities, Bluetooth, 3.25″ HVGA touchscreen, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and an optical trackpad.

Motorola has just updated the Atrix 4G web page and we’ve noticed something really interesting in the smartphone’s fact sheet: now it’s capable of shooting 720p HD videos, however, it seems like a software upgrade will bring full HD 1080p video recording capabilities.

The Nvidia Tegra 2 processor is capable of encoding/decoding 1080p videos and we know that because the LG Optimus 2X is capable of filming in full HD so why wouldn’t the Motorola Atrix 4G be capable, too?

If the Motorola Atrix 4G and the LG Optimus 2X can film in full HD, then this kinda eliminates the need of a camcorder, right? Maybe, maybe not, but it will sure be cooler to watch your 1080p videos taken with your smartphone on a full HD LCD thanks to the HDMI output capabilities of the aforementioned devices.

I would purchase the Motorola Atrix 4G if it would ever come to Europe in favor of the LG Optimus 2X. Somehow I trust Motorola more than LG. What will you do when both these phones become available in the US?

Microsoft has just announced Q2 2011 earnings and once again, we noticed that gaming income is growing while Windows sales are decreasing. Steve Ballmer reported that Microsoft has a $6.63 billion profit in Q2 2011 from a total of $19.95 billion in revenue.

The Redmond-based company recorded an 8% decrease in Windows sales, but it doesn’t matter too much because Microsoft gathered $5.05 billion from Windows and Windows Live services. The division that brought Microsoft a record in revenues is the Entertainment and Devices Division which brought $3.6 billion thanks to Xbox 360, Kinect, and Xbox Live sales.

The difference between gaming and Windows divisions is now “minimal.” Previously the gap was of $3.1 billion, but now the Xbox sales have caught up with Windows sales and the gap stands at $1.3 billion. This is an important thing because it shows that the gaming industry is one of the fastest growing in the world and Microsoft doesn’t look like stopping.

A couple of weeks ago we’ve seen the next-gen BlackBerry smartphones which will be released later this year. Those devices were only GSM phones, and now CrackBerry got their hands on the BlackBerry CDMA roadmap and there are lots of smartphones waiting to be released.

The BlackBerry PlayBook CDMA will be released in Q2 2011, while the BlackBerry Montana will be released alongside the BlackBerry Monaco in Q3 2011. The Montana is the CDMA Dakota and it might be released as Bold Touch because it features a touchscreen alongside a cool Bold-like QWERTY keyboard.

The Monaco is the CDMA version of the BlackBerry Storm 3 and it will feature a 1.2GHz single-core Qualcomm processor, 3.7-inch capacitive WVGA touchscreen, and a 5-megapixel camera on the back with 720p HD video recording.

BlackBerry Curve Apollo has a CDMA variant, too and it’s going to be called Sedona. This smartphone will come packed with NFC capabilities, though most new BlackBerry devices will probably support this feature. The BB Sedona release date will be late Q3 2011 or early Q4 2011.

RIM is also preparing something for late Q4 2011 or early Q1 2012: BlackBerry Malibu. This will become the first Curve phone with a touchscreen and it is internally codenamed as Curve Touch.

Most upcoming BlackBerry smartphones will come packed with a digital compass, 720p HD video recording, and support for HTML5, OpenGL ES 2.0, BlackBerry OS 6.1, 3G mobile hotspot, and virtual keyboard.

Amazon is a good source for leaks and it wasn’t enough for Motorola’s CEO Sanjay Jha to announce the Atrix 4G release date, the online retailer has just begun listing the smartphone. So according to Amazon, the Motorola Atrix 4G price is $149.99 with a new two-year contract, or $599 unlocked. The reported Motorola Atrix 4G shipping date is February 11th which is days away from the already announced “end of February.”

The Samsung Inspire 4G also made a brief cameo on Amazon’s website and this device has been listed for $99.99 with the usual two-year contract, and $499.99 unlocked. There was no shipping date mentioned for the Samsung Inspire 4G, and now the problem is that both listings are gone. I guess they just two fortunate/unfortunate leaks therefore we’re going to have to wait a couple of more weeks before these two become available for pre-order.

So the Sony PSP2 NGP has been unveiled yesterday and we were impressed by this portable gaming device. We know the PSP2 specs, we know the NGP release date, but we don’t know the price of this gaming device. Rumors said that it’s going to cost $599, however, in an interview Sony’s Andrew House said that the price will be around $250 like the Nintendo 3DS.

In an another interview, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida said that the PSP2 price will not be $599, like rumors suggested. Sony’s officials said that there is no way the NGP will cost as much as a PS3 because the price must be in the portable gaming space because the PSP2 doesn’t compete against the PS3 or the Xbox 360, it’s out there to compete against the 3DS and others.

Personally, I am curious to find out how much the Sony NGP parts will cost cause we have a quad-core CPU, quad-core GPU, an OLED screen, two cameras, and a touchpad on the back. These parts must be expensive including the OLED screen. I guess we will have to wait until this holiday season to find out!

Facebook is growing and now the leaders of the social-networking website want to build a phone. It’s not the first time we’ve heard rumors of a Facebook phone, but it’s the first time actual details of it are released by a tipster.

One of the BGR ninjas who leaked the details, claim that people working at this project are not calling it the Facebook phone, probably because it will fall into a new category of devices. The media-called Facebook phone will have a built-in GPS which that will be always on. A location-aware service will track you everywhere you go and if you will be near a store, then it will immediately notify you that there are some deals available.

The location-aware Facebook phone will also support Facebook Places and it will automatically check-in and share your current location with your FB buddies. The source says that the Facebook phone will not have built-in storage as everything will be stored in the cloud – media, contacts, data, videos, and basically everything you can store on a device.

Like most portable devices nowadays, it will have a camera, though like said, the pictures and videos will be stored in the cloud and in the same time, automatically uploaded to your Facebook account. The Facebook phone will support a ticker-like notification service which will send all your messages and FB notifications into a global inbox.

The rumors regarding the Facebook don’t end here as City A.M is reporting that HTC is going to release two Facebook phones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. So HTC is working closely with Facebook on two devices, and that’s not surprising at all considering the fact that HTC was the first to release an Android phone and the first to release a Google phone, so why won’t it be the first to release a Facebook phone?

There isn’t a long wait until the Mobile World Congress when we will see two HTC Facebook phones. Anybody else excited?
