The brand new Koenigsegg Agera R is capable of sprinting from 0 to 200 kph in 7.5 seconds and then it only needs 4.9 seconds to stop.

Koenigsegg officials have raveled the technical specs of the new Agera R. The Swedes’ latest product sprints from 0 to 100 kph in 2.9 seconds, and from 0 to 200 kph in 7.5 seconds. Moreover, the top speed of this supercar is of 420 kph. And the braking times are impressive, too, as Koenigsegg Agera R can sprint to 200 kph and then stop in a total time of 12.4 seconds. With E85 gasoline, Agera R delivers 1,115 HP and 1,200 Nm, while the customers that will use regular gasoline will only enjoy 940 HP and 1,100 Nm.

The new Koenigsegg creation is 4.29 m long, 1.99 m wide and ha hight of only 1.12 m. The wheelbase of Agera R is of 2.66 m. The Swedish supercar weighs in 1,330 kg with a 45 / 55 weight distribution. Koenigsegg Agera R features a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, but the displacement of the V8 powering the supercar is still a mystery.

But Koenigsegg are proud to announce that the passengers of their supercar can experience forces of up to 1.6 G and enjoy an average fuel consumption of only 15 l/100 km.

A unit of the fastest Ferrari in history was seriously damaged on a highway in Germany. The driver lost control of the car at 130 kph and hit the protection fence.

Even though is one of the rarest exotic apparitions of the moment (only 599 units being scheduled for production), it seems Ferrari 599 GTO is not immune to unpleasant incidents. Tagged as the most powerful and fastest Ferrari ever made, 599 GTO has all the ingredients of an exotic car crash.

A unit of the Maranello supercar ended bad on a highway in Germany. Behind the steering wheel of the Ferrari 599 GTO involved in the crash was Peter Stoll, Honorary Consul in El Salvador, established in Germany. It seems that Stoll tried to overtake another car, at a speed of 130 kph, and lost the control of the Italian supercar, hitting the protection fence.

The driver had no serious injuries, but the Ferrari 599 GTO is not looking too nice after the crash. Stoll will fix the car with the help of Ferrari, but until everything is solved, the German will have to drive a Maserati.

This is not the first crash of a Ferrari 599 GTO, as the Italian supercar was involved in an easier accident, in Great Britain. Chris Evans’ 599 GTO was hit in the parking lot by a friend. The only damages to the car were some scratches of the spoiler.

Artega presented at Geneva Motor Show 2011 the electric supercar, SE. The Model is powered by two electric motors together developing not less than 380 HP.

The German automaker, Artega, prepared for this year’s edition of Geneva Motor Show, an electric version of their Artega GT. Named Artega SE, acronym for Sport Electric, the new product is underpinned by the petrol engine version of the model.

The coupe is powered by two electric units, one for every traction wheel, capable of working independently, but together developing a power of 380 HP. The resources are enough to give the electric concept better performances than of the Artega GT.

So, Artega SE sprints from 0 to 100 kph in 4.3 seconds, 0.5 seconds faster than the petrol powered version. The top speed is pretty high for an electric powered vehicle, 250 kph. The performances are possible thanks to the low weight, of only 1,400 kg, with an 43:57 weight ratio.

A lithium-polymer batteries pack keep the electric motors alive, with a capacity of 37 kWh and nominal voltage of 350 V. The automaker announced that the new Artega SE will be capable of offering an official 300 km mileage. For a fast complete recharge of the batteries, Artega SE needs 90 minutes.

The German automaker have not ruled out the production version of Artega SE, but rumor has it that only a small number will be built.

Mansory prepared a tuning package for the Ferrari 458 Italia supercar. Named Siracusa, the package comes with a bit more power under the hood and carbon fiber aerodynamic elements.

Mansory have built a special tuning kit for Ferrari 458 Italia, named Siracusa. The package includes both aesthetic and technical tweaks.  Thanks to the revisions of the guys specialized in tuning exotic models, Ferrari 458 Italia Siracusa now features 590 HP and a torque of 560 Nm. Now, the Italian supercar sprints from 0 to 100 kph in 3.2 seconds and tops 330 kph.

The aerodynamic kit, designed by Mansory, is based on carbon fiber materials and features: a front bumper extension, rear diffuser, an small spoiler and air intakes for the thresholds. According to Mansory, the elements manage to increase the downforce on both axles, even though 458 Italia now weighs in 70 kg less than stock.

The tuner also prepared 20″ rims for the front and 21″ for the rear, wearing Michelin PS2 performance tires. The suspension was modified too, for enhanced handling. Inside, the Suracusa package brings custom leather trim, and a series of carbon fiber insertions.

Geneva Motor Show 2011 presented a lot of surprises, a lot of hybrid and electric cars but also the Supercars. I made a top 5 of the most interesting Supercars.

1. LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR

This Supercar was waiting by a lot of people, especially by the Lamborghini fans. The Murcielago successor came to Geneva Auto Show 2011 after his previously announced by a series of teasers that have gradually ”dressed” the Italian model, over the recent weeks. The model of the automaker from Sant’Agata Bolognese comes with a V12 engine, with 700 HP and with interesting figures in the column entitled “Performance”: 2.9 seconds for 0-60 mph and 217 mph maximum speed.

2. FERRARI FF

The latest model in the Ferrari range does not replace any previous model. From a simple reason: it is an absolute new model for the Italian automaker. We talking about the first Ferrari model in the history that comes with four wheel drive system and with fours seats, elements that are considered strange by many fans of the brand. However, the interesting Shooting Brake design, the V12 engine and the 660 HP promise that the Ferrari FF model will quickly find the buyers.

3. PAGANI HUAYRA

Many of those guys present at Geneva Motor Show 2011 have called Pagani Huayra the most exciting Supercar released at Geneva. And this is the true, while the car comes into already known Horacio Pagani design and have under the hood a V12 engine that can develops 700 HP and 738 lb-ft of torque. And, more interesting is that the Italian model has a mass of only 2,970 pounds.

4. Koenigsegg AGERA R

The Swedes from Koenigsegg have presented their new Supercar, named Agera R. We are talking about a Supercar made and constructed in 100% sporty spirit, destinate for the performance on the road. Under the hood, Agera R comes with a twin turbo V8 engine that develops 1115 HP and 886 lb-ft of torque. We don’t have the 0-60 acceleration performance, but the maximum speed that can reach new Koenigsegg Agera R is 273 mph. This however, will be electronically limited to “only” 233 mph.

5. ASTON MARTIN VIRAGE

The new Aston Marin Supercar, named Virage is a model that infiltrating between DB9 and DBS. Obviously, we see another Aston Martin with sexy lines and in the same time with elegant lines, but under the hood Virage comes with a V12 6.0-liter engine that can develops 510 HP. Koenigsegg has presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2011 the R version of the Agera supercar. The supercar produces 1115HP and develops 1200 NM.

As promised, the Swedish automaker, Koenigsegg, has presented at Geneva Auto Show 2011 the new Agera R supercar. “The beast” prepared by the Swedes have a monocoque structure, and the total mass of the car reaches to 2930 pounds.

This is remarkable thing, because under the Agera R hood we find a V8 5.0-liter twin-turbo engine that produces 1115 HP and develops 1200 Nm when is powered with biofuel E85. When using a 95 octane fuel the engine power decreases to 940 HP and 1100 Nm. The eight-cylinder power is transmitted to wheels through a gearbox with double-clutch and seven reports, that weighing only 179 pounds.  The maximum speed that Agera R can run is 273 mph, but the model will be limited to 233 mph.

At the exterior, the Swedish supercar has a set of VGR (Vortex Generating Rim) wheels, which have a role to maximizing the downforce, and comes with Michelin tires that have been specifically designed to support speeds up to 260 mph. At the interior, the aluminum, the carbon fiber and Alcantara blend harmoniously to create an exclusive atmosphere, and the Hi-fi system offers audio functions, of navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and informations about the car telemetry.

McLaren revealed the specs of the new MP4-12C. The British supercar develops 600 HP at 7,000 rpm and offers 600 Nm of torque between 3,000 – 7,000 rpm.

The McLaren officials have unveiled the technical specs of the European MP4-12C. The European McLaren MP4-12C delivers 600 HP and 600 Nm of torque. Now the first MP4-12C copies are leaving the production line of the Woking plant. Some body parts of the model are made of carbon fiber, so the front / rear weight distribution is close to the one of Ferrari 458 Italia.

The European version of MP4-12C is able to sprint from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.3 seconds. If Corsa tires are used, the 0-100 time drops with 0.2 seconds. The 0 – 200 kph sprint is made in 9.1 seconds, with standard tires, while the Corsa tires offer a time of 8.9 seconds. A lot of cars with sporty wet dreams are hitting 100 kph slower than McLaren MP4-12C does 200 with Corsa tires. The top speed is of 330 kph, which we believe is enough.

For those not so up to date with the McLaren supercar news, MP4-12C features a twin-turbo V8 engine. The unit has a displacement of 3,799 cc and a compression ratio of 8,7:1. Both the engine block and the cylinder heads are built of aluminium, for lower curb wight. The SSG seven gears transmission has a special configuration that allows extremely fast gear shifts and sends the power to the rear wheels through an open differential. The open differential is helped in the corners and in straights by the system that brakes the rear wheel on the inside of the corner for offering maximum stability and minimum grip loss.

Honda CEO confirmed that the Japanese automaker will return in motorsport and that they are preparing a new supercar.

According to the statements of the Honda CEO, Takanobu Ito, the Japanese company got back to work in order to develop a new supercar, designed for motorsport competitions. The new sports model might be the successor for the notorious Honda NSX supercar. The announcement was made on Friday, during a press conference where Honda’s involvement in motorsport was discussed.

Takanobu Ito said that the Honda HSV-010GT will underpin the new model. Even so, we don’t know yet if the new Honda supercar will use the same 3.4-liter naturally aspired V8 engine, capable of delivering 500 HP and 392 Nm, or if it gets a new engine.

By developing in the same time a production version derived from a model designed for the Super GT series, Honda respects an unwritten law that asks all the automakers involved in motor racing to own two versions, a street model and one build exclusively for racing, of the same model, under the same name.

The Japanese official also spoke about a new sports car, but more affordable, to be a successor of the Honda NSX.

Today, at 13:00 CET Ferrari have revealed their 4 seats model. They called it Ferrari Four and it looks like the perfect combination between their latest models. So Porsche Panamera be aware.

They new Ferrari Four is the supercar for the ones that want to offer their family the greatest ride. With a front inspired by the already famous Ferrari 458 Italia, Ferrari Four is powered by a naturally-aspired 6.3-liter V12 engine that develops not less than 660 HP at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 683 Nm 6,000 rpm.

The brand new Ferrari model is able of neck-breaking sprints as it hits 100 kph from a standing start in just 3.7 seconds, while the top speed is of 335 kph. With dimensions placing it in the GT sports cars class (4,9 meters long, 1,95 meters wide and 1,38 meters high), the FF looks like the perfect rival for the German’s Porsche Panamera.

The New Ferrari FF is the first four-wheel drive car of the Prancing Horse, featuring the 4RM system that mated with an F1 double-clutch gearbox that sends 53% of the V12′s horsepower to the rear axle and transforms this four seats supercar in a road torpedo. FF has a weight of only 1,790 kg and the Ferrari patented 4RM weighs in 50% less than a conventional four-wheel drive system. Ferrari Four’s weight distribution is close to perfection: 43% front and 53% rear.

As about the looks of the FF, it looks like Pininfarina did a great job, making the GT supercar one of the most comfortable Ferrari cars ever made, with a luggage space of 400 L (extendable to 800 L), being able to accommodate four passengers.

FF is the abbreviation for Ferrari Four, but it also stands for “Four-wheel” drive and “Four seats.” The customers can choose from up to six special shades for the body of FF.

Today, reading some supercar news a question crossed my mind. Is an ordinary garage worthy of your supercar? I googled a bit and found a lot of interesting garage designs. Some of them looked very expensive, some looked ingenious and some looked not-worthy-of-a supercar.

Anyway if your garage is expensive it does not necessarily means it’s worthy of a supercar, as if it’s most expensive dose not mean it’s the best. So, I kept googleing and I came across an interesting post. The title caught me: “Expensive Cars Only Look Good in Mind-Blowing Garages,” so I clicked and saw a nice gallery of expensive and rare cars laying in luxury and fancy garages. It seems that the guys at Luxeb.com asked the same questions as I did.

Lots of Maserati owners worship their luxury cars, some Ferrari owners park their cars in their living-rooms and some wealthy collectors got their garages looking like an auto shows. I really enjoyed the idea of staying in front of the TV and be able to see the beauties in your garage.

Everyone loving his car does everything to celebrate every day besides it, so the three Chevys are enjoying life in a garage looking more like a hero hideout. So you ask yourself: is your garage worthy of your car?
