Nissan GT-R Updated And In Testing, See The Spy Video!

At the Nurburgring Nordschleife track, someone was sneaky enough for film this updated Nissan GT-R undergoing testing. Good part is that the car has little disguise on, so we can get a clear view of what could be a Spec M version of the 2011 GT-R. The current Nissan GT-R sports car debuted in March 2009 world-wide, after it had been released in Japan since January same year. We did buzz you up a bit in the recent past with rumours that the car could be buffed up to some 500 hp and that testing will begin in the near future. Well, looks like the latter confirmed and we’ll make sure to let you know when the horsie-horsie part does too.

One can also notice that facelifted sports Nissan is a bit wider, and that it borrows the forged wheels and aero pack from the Spec V, but features an fresh sporty front bumper and rear exhaust design that is looking real good.

There was some speculation that a special edition would make its debut at last year’s Tokyo show, but it never arrived so people were wondering what’s going on. Previous Spec M versions Nissan Skylines were intended to be upmarket affairs, and included leather trim and a more compliant suspension setup for a more comfortable ride. Maybe the work invested in these two models could see some spark of a result in a new M GT-R 2011. We’ll have to wait and see.

New Spy Shots Of The 2012 Porsche Boxster

The next generation Porsche Boxster was caught again during some tests conducted by Germans. The new German model will have a new design and better performances.

The next generation Porsche Boxter was caught again during some testes conducted by the engineers of the Stuttgart automaker on the streets in Germany. This time, the new test mule, was wearing even less camo, pointing that the car’s development is getting closer to an end.

The new spy-shots show us how the new 2012 Boxster will have some major changes both in design and dimensions. The body was changed, a thing that gives the German model a really sporty silhouette. The 2012 Porsche Boxster will be built on the platform of the Volkswagen BlueSport concept and will be longer than the current Boxster. The enlarged dimensions of the Boxster mean more room for the passengers, but also better stability at high speeds.

The most important change the Stuttgart automaker’s model suffered was under the hood. The German engineers will prepare for the 2012 Boxster a smaller engine, that would lead to lower fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions. Hans-Jurgen Wohler, the one in charge with the development of the new Boxster, said that Porsche will use three and four-cylinder engines that will develop powers between 180 and 200 HP.

The Stuttgart automaker will equip the 2012 Porsche Boxter with a double-clutch PDK gearbox, and with a manual transmission with six gears. The new Porsche Boxster is expected to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, next year.

Mercedes SLK 2012: Caught Undisguised in New Spy Shots

The Mercedes-Benz’s SLK Roadster third generation is still under extensive development, but we’re lucky enough to have some spy shots to offer, and with no camouflage on the prototypes! Codenamed R172 and based on the new C-class platform, this up-coming SLK is due to go on sale next summer.

This new set of eye candy shows that the 2012 SLK looses the current model’s F1-inspired nose and gets a much bolder grille and more geometrically shaped headlamps, not unlike the fabulous SLS AMG Gullwing. However, Stuttgart’s Z4-fighter will continue to be a strictly two-seater roadster with a two-piece folding hardtop.

The interior is also reminiscent of the AMG, with the instrument cluster layout with two large gauges and the center console featuring twin air-vents with cruciform-style nozzles. More tweaks are sure to follow so this is far from a final design.

Engine-wise, the new 2012 SLK will probably feature a few trims, from the 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder pushing out some 200-ponies and to the brand new 3.5 liter direct-injection V6 306 hp beauty seen on the CLS Shooting Brake Concept.

We’ll probably be seeing more of the car, in quality photos and with some official specs at motor shows in Detroit in January 2011 or Geneva in March 2011. Enjoy these nice spy shots of the undisguised Mercedes SLK 2012 till then.

2011 BMW 6-Series Convertible Caught In A Better Spy VIDEO!

The BMW 6-Series is coming closer to it’s launch, and constituently we are seeing more and more of the car in spy shots and videos, with less and less camouflage painted on. This here video is actually pretty good, so skip ahead and play it below or read a bit about the car. It seems the German maker is busies than ever, and we hope to see a production ready car caught on cam real soon.

The next 6er Convertible follows the recipe of today’s model, with a cloth top and seating for 2+2. However, it gets sharper looks with styling cues lifted directly from the recently revealed Concept Gran Coupe.

There is no glimpse yet taken at the interior of the upcoming Series 6 Convertible, but we’re sure BMW has some goodies planned.

Power? We’re going to see a rear-wheel drive along with a choice of straight-six petrol and diesel and twin-turbo V8 petrol engines linked to either manual or 8-speed automatic transmissions.

The range will top out with the M6 model powered by an M-division set twin-turbo V8. In the X5M and X6M, this engine delivers 555HP and 680Nm or 501-lbs/ft of peak torque, however, it is believed that in the next M5 and M6 Coupe / Convertible models, output will be closer to the 600HP mark. We’ll wait and see, you’ll be the first to know.

There’s also been hot talk about a sedan variant of the 6-Series based on the Concept Gran Coupe, set to compete with the Mercedes-Benz CLS and Audi A7 Sportback. What can we say.. good luck with that.

Volkswagen Fills Interesting Patents, Are They Planning A Jetta Coupe?

Thanks to Carscoop, we can share images of the latest patents VW filled in. It seems that they are planning a Jetta Coupe, which would be pleasant additions to the line-up. Sure, this is nothing official, the German maker filled these patent that you can see right here for a “New Compact Coupe”.

What do you think, would a Jetta Coupe be a welcome addition from VW?

Since that concept, the New Compact Car thing, was shown at the Detroit Auto Show, changes have been applied. An image of this showroom concept is below this paragraph. It may be hard to notice considering that those are real life high-quality photos and these just greyish patent images, but still we point out the traditional-style grille and exhaust. The shade of the car indicates that it could be offered diesel, gas and even hybrid to the world once it’s finished. As a Jetta Coupe or not.

Volkswagen New Compact Coupe, at Detriot

In our opinion it’s most likely that this is indeed going to be (approx) how the new Jetta Coupe from Volkswagen is going to look like. Probably to be a 2011 model, this car is sure to be a huge success, and the United States needs such a coupe – with decent dimensions unlike the rather slim Scirocco.

Mercedes-Benz GL 2012 In Testing Spy Shots!

The Mercedes-Benz GL seem to be getting a lot of attention for the German maker. After a refresh to the 2010 model, the team over in beautiful (and productive) Stuttgart is already testing a mule of the 2012 GL model! And yes, we have the spy shots to prove that!

The general allure of the seven-passenger SUV from Mercedes-Benz seems to be preserved, but they did work a bit on the front fascia, and will probably be shifted even more as development stages advance. The new GL will ride on a stretched version of the next-generation ML crossover platform, and it will share the majority of its technological data with the smaller ML, which is good news.

Specifications and more details are unavailable yet, as is the release date or trims and packages for the up-coming GL 2012 large but sporty ute. It’s going to be more techy, that’s for sure, as well as probably a bit bigger than the current generation. Take a look at the shots and patience people, patience!

BMW 1 Series M Coupe – Spy Shots And Now Video!

BMW has released the first teaser video of its upcoming 1 Series M Coupe, after much speculation and only a few Spy Shots to keep us satisfied. We were of course here on the spot to feed you the treats once they surfaced.The video after the jump is devoid of much details, but it confirms what we’ve seen in countless spy shots and the rumours that have been going round and round for almost a year now. You can even get to test one or at least be subscribed to the latest details right from the source, read below under the video for that.

BMW 1 Series M Coupe spy shots - and now a video to match`em!

Reports indicate that the twin-turbocharged inline-six (N54) in the standard 135i will be upgraded to 335 horsepower, a manual gearbox attached to this new M coupe. The results are a 0-60 time of around 4.5 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. We’ll see if this specs stick…

What we already saw in the pics, and hoped to be true, were the quad pipes and the signature M series (as well as other BMW lines) fender vents. The new 1 Series M Coupe is said to hold firmer springs, dampers and bushings, with 18-inch sport light wheels keeping the car on the ground.

Hyundai Genesis 2011 Spy Shot: A Blunt BMW Copy?

A Hyundai Genesis sedan spotted in South Korea has been shot in a few photos. Sadly they are of modest quality, limited range and they interesting aspects are only surprised in the rear angle shots. Still, the images speak volumes of the 2011 model’s secrets, that seem to be more about details and trinkets than major updates to the Genesis.

You can easily notice the LED headlamps and more chrome trim, as well as a newly sculpted skirting. The latest is somewhere between Audi and VW style, but then again that’s not the biggest mark of originality from Hyundai on the 2011 Genesis. What you probably already know is that the Hyundai Genesis 2011 is going to be powered by a decent 5.0-liter, direct-injection V8 with 429 horsepower and will feature an eight-speed automatic. Very likely is that we’ll be seeing Hyundai l adding new GDI (gasoline direct injection) engines to the line-up, on both this here spy cammed Genesis 2011 sedan as well as on the Equus.

When the car was first introduced, Hyundai boasted a modern, attractive sedan with all the features people expect from such rolled into one. No one thought that means “refreshing” the car with a BMW-like shifter and 7 Series exhaust tips, Audi skirting and Lexus style lights. Or maybe we’re just being mean, it’s just a Spy Shot after all. And just when we were hoping this will be serious competition for the Ford Mustang…

Dodge Challenger SRT8 Said To Come At 480 HP

The people from Allpar claim they have inside sources that say the new Challanger SRT8 2011 will have it’s engine enhanced… quite a lot. Already a powerful (hence the muscle car moniker, don’t you think?) ride, the new Dodge Challanger SRT8 may get more from it’s 6.4-liter Hemi than previous generations. More with 55 horsepower and 40 pound-feet of torque, up to 480 ponies and 460 lb-ft.

All this, according to the same Allpar people, matched to a powerful ight-speed automatic transmission developed by Chrysler and ZF.

Most of the other supposed changes are more of less speculative, and are mainly aimed at making the car more appealing to the modern buyer, Chrysler fan Dodge fan or both. Or neither, hopefully. The floorpan is being reworked so the car fits more easily into Charger and 300 production, an electric power steering pump is coming onboard and an upgraded interior is in the offing. Cosmetically, the muscle car picks up the Charger’s door handles, the Magnum (click for actual Spy Shots of the 2012 model!) wagon’s hatch release button for its trunk, and the lower front grille gets turned upside down.
