After working with Tesla, Lotus plans to produce its own electrical hybrid that will be displayed at Geneva 2010 and is called Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid concept.

Lotus was not happy just to provide Tesla with a platform, but they even take into account a future entry on the market of electric models. The intention is announced by Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid concept. Like the Tesla Roadster, the 414E Evora Hybrid is also propelled by electricity, thanks to the two electric motors located centrally, but they are generating energy through the 3-cylinder 1.2-liter engine developing 47 HP, which was named by Lotus “Lotus Range Extender” and is weighing only 187 pounds.

The electric aggregate develops quite a lot of power 414 HP (this is where the name comes from), so the Evora hybrid can rival with the genuine supercars. The Brits say that this model can reach 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. And

Lotus has published today the first information and pictures of the new Elise facelift, the sport cars that comes with a number of aesthetic improvements, but most important with better fuel efficiency  and lower CO2 emissions.
Lotus prepares its triumphant return on the sport cars segment with a facelift for the popular Elise, expected to show up next month, at the Geneva Motor Show. The exodus of the Italian from Ferrari seems it already started to pay its dividends. Elise comes with a very different, more contemporary design philosophy aligned to the one introduced by Evora.
The front bumper was redesigned to accommodate larger air intakes, the optical blocks have been restyled and now they enjoy, as a premiere, the LED lights, and the hood has received a new form. The changes are also easy to see in the rear, the novelty being the restyled spoiler and taillights.

Designers effort not only led to the

The Lotus Evora is the sensational car that brought Lotus it’s first award, “Car Of The Year” from EVO magazine. In case you’re wondering, Evo is a British automobile magazine dedicated to performance cars, from hot hatches to supercars. It is published monthly but has recently taken the decision to publish 13 issues a year.
More details in the press release, see after the lastparagraph. Photo gallery also at the end of the article.
“The thrill of driving” is all that EVO stands for, and Lotus surely deserves attention when it comes to that.  On Scotlands Isle of Skye track the Evore won against monster competition: Ferrari 458, Aston Martin V12 Vantage and Porsche 911 GT3. The Lotus Evora went into production earlier this year. Lotus sold so far some 800 units of the supercar, which is not bad considering the times and the competition on the market.
EVO also evaluated track cars

Lotus Exige Scura Joins The Dark Side

When Lotus showed Exige, we all thought that it can’t get blacker than that: black metallic paint, black rims covered with… hmmm black tires – it was all black. But now, Lotus made a new car: and Exige so black that they called it “Scura,” which in Italian means… you would not guess, black.
Probably the Malaysians from Proton, that bought Lotus, somehow have an affinity for this “malefic” non-color. Wearing a matte black paint with black sport Phantom stripes on the middle, you are pretty sure that Scura doesn’t stand for “in the name of the Father.” Contrary I might say – it’s an Antichrist of the cars.
And it’s fast. Very fast. It hits 60 in 4.1 seconds, and the speedometer stops at 152 mph thanks to the Toyota 1.8-liter engine that now sends out 260 hp and 178 lb-ft, while it keep a mileage of 33.2 mpg and CO2 emission under 200 g/km – 199 more precisely.

If you ever get smoked on the street by a smiling car, then an Elise just passed by. Or was it an Exige? That big smile on the front bumper is the signature of these two sportscars. Knowing the expression: “Don’t be sad, don’t be blue, Frankenstein was ugly too” these two flyweight supercars just smile, attracting attention everywhere. Who said that if you’re ugly, you’re not wanted?

The Elise Club Racer is based upon the better known Elise S, his 134 bhp being enough to do 60 in 5.7 seconds. I think that’s pretty fast considering that the price of an Elise Club Racer in Europe is somewhere around €35,000 ($50,000). Pay that amount of money and you’ll get a Lotus in any of the color schemes used by Lotus in the 1960s (Elite Yellow, Carbon Grey, Sky Blue and Old English White).

If the Elise Club Racer is not good
