BMW Rival For Audi R8 Will Be Inspired By The Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept

BMW M6 will be dropped in favor of a supercar with Vision ED’s design to fight directly with the Audi R8.

BMW will continue to produce an M version of its 6-Series when the market will get new generation of the model or, which will be replaced with a sports model inspired by the design of the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics concept. Informatia was published in premiere by the Brits from Autocar, who claim that this will be the official answer that BMW will have to face the much-acclaimed Audi R8.

According to the information the British journalists have, this decision was already taken in the automaker’s offices in Munich, which is based on the fact that the 6-Series has become, over his career, a car that is rather a Grand Tourer, than a sports model. In these conditions, an M6 becomes increasingly inappropriate in a range that does not focus on sportiness.

The new BMW sports model will most likely have a 4.4-liter V8 engine, the same that will hide under the hood of the new generation of M5.

“A future BMW supercar has to be intelligent and dramatic-looking, something like the ED concept,” Klaus Draeger, BMW Group Research and Development chief.

Anyway, if you can’t remember how the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics concept looked like, here is a gallery that will refresh your memory.
