F1 Regulations Stay The Same In 2010
Bernie Ecclestone says the Formula 1 regulations will remain unchanged this season, any further amendments being applied next year.
After many criticisms coming from the pilots and fans regarding the acute lack of performance in the Grand Prix of Bahrain State, several teams showed their intention to introduce changes to regulation this year. But their hopes were destroyed by Bernie Ecclestone, who revealed that it is unlikely that the rules be amended during this season because of the democratic vote of the teams.
“We cannot change the rules. It would take far too long and it is too difficult. F1 is now a democracy and all the teams voted for these rules, so now they must also deal with them,” the 79 years old Brit said for the German publication Bild.

According to statute, any change in regulation for the current season must be approved by all teams in Formula 1 and then sent for ratification to the FIA World Council.
One of the key changes recently proposed by teams like McLaren, Red Bull or Mercedes GP was introducing of two binding pit stops during the race for the dynamic action of the circuit. The proposal came after all top drivers opted for a single pit stop during the Grand Prix of Bahrain State. “What I fear is that we will end up with many one-stop races. I was pushing very hard for two stops because with how the cars are and how the fuel regulations are we will see a lot of races like this (Bahrain),” said Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing team chief, to the official site of Formula 1.
