The BMW officials have presented the first official pictures with the fourth generation of the 5 Series Touring.

BMW representatives presented today the first official information and photos of the new 5 Series wagon version. The fourth generation of the 5 Series Touring will be available starting September this year and will have four engines versions, two petrol and two diesel.

For those who love a gas engine, BMW prepared the 523i engine that delivers 204 HP and develops a torque of 153 lb-ft. The second petrol version is ready for BMW 535i. The six-cylinder 3.0-liter engine produces 306 HP and develops a torque of 295 lb- ft. Equipped with this engine, 5 Series Touring will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 6.0 seconds and the top speed will be limited to 155 mph.

The diesel engines will be available in the 520d and 530d versions. The first engine produces 184 Hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, while the 530d diesel engine will deliver 245 HP and will develop a torque of 398 lb-ft. All these engines will be coupled to a standard six-speed manual transmission, but customers can also choose for an automatic gearbox with eight speeds.

The 2.0-liter diesel engine will be the greenest, the amount of CO2 emissions reduced as much as possible. As for the trunk volume on the 2011 BMW 5 Series Touring, it has increased, now reaching 560 liters and by folding down the rear seats the volume will measure 1670 liters.

The new 2011 BMW 5 Series Touring will have an air suspension on rear that gives you a comfortable roadholding when the trunk is loaded. The new generation of 5 Series Touring will have four driving modes: Normal, Comfort, Sport and Sport +.
