Red Bull denied the rumor that it has reached an agreement with Kimi Raikkonen for the Finn to make his return in Formula 1 in the 2011 season.

Kimi Raikkonen left Formula 1 at the end of the 2009 season to be part of a new experience in World Rally Championship with the Citroen Junior.

The second team of the French manufacturer is sponsored by the energy drinks company Red Bull, and this thing immediately led to the speculation that the Finn will return in Formula 1 next year, with the Austrian team. The rumors are fueled by the fact that Mark Webber’s current contract expires at the end of 2010 season, so the team will have an extra place available for the next season.

Earlier, Raikkonen admitted that it is too early to discuss such a project, and Dietrich Mateschitz, owner of the Red Bull, has reinforced the fact that between the two parties have not discussed such issues.

“This is nothing more than pure speculation. But to tell you now Kimi will be racing for us in 2011 is not serious. If Webber provides top performances this year we will not reward him by giving his cockpit to Raikkonen,” Mateschitz explained.

Raikkonen has a contract with Citroen Junior for one season and will decide whether to continue or not depending on his WRC results during this year.
