Volvo, one of the automakers with the one of the most sober reputation wants to change people’s opinion at Geneva Motor Show 2010. Is it the Volvo S60R the “naughty” model which Volvo makes public by these two videos?

Volvo, by definition, it’s that kind of automaker you just can’t associate wit sportiveness. Still, they had some sporty models, all gathered under the R-series range. Originally opened by the Volvo 850 T5-R in 1995. At the time that model had very surprising performance, its 240 HP and the all-wheel traction allowed him to reach 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. Volvo 850 TR has held at that time the record for the fastest car with automatic transmission.

The latest embodiment of a model bearing the R-suffix was the Volvo S60R that saw the sunlight in 2003, but it wasn’t able to keep pace with the times, being even less sporty than the first R. Under these auspices Volvo lets us understand that the current Volvo S60 will also have a R version. They didn’t said it straight, but they show us two viral videos that suggest speed and sent the message “Naughty Volvos are coming”. We will see more at Geneva 2010 if the Swedes are coming with new powers on the sporty sedans segment.
