AMG Cigarette Racing Boat – An AMG Of 2,700 Horses… Sea Horses
Although it’s about ten times smaller, Mercedes SLS AMG was the creative inspiration for a craft that could easily fit in the “superboats” category.
Mercedes AMG and Cigarette (ultra fast boats manufacturer, which adopted the name of the first speed boats used for cigarettes smuggling, the so-called “cigarette boats”) have a marketing partnership for nearly 3 years. The collaboration got a concrete form only two years ago, when Cigarette started the construction of a speed boat, getting the inspiration form the model offered by AMG.
Although SLS was in the development phase at that time, Skip Braver, the American company’s CEO, says that they used the supercar as muse. At least the boat and the supercar performance are similar (each is manifested in its environment). The boat has two Mercury Racing engines, capable of developing 1,350 HP each, so it results a total of 2,700 HP. The nautical “rocket” have not yet been tested, but its creators say it can easily reach 113 knots (130 mph), a tremendous speed on water.

Even the SLS’s silver paint is used by its nautical correspondent. The boat’s dashboard is similary garnished as the supercar’s, using Nappa leather and finishings just like the ones of the four wheels bolide. The price of the craft will be $900,000 and it will presented for the first time at the Miami International Boat Show. The boat will also arrive in Europe, most likely at the boat show in Genoa, Italy.
