Toyota Auris Hybrid Coming To Geneva 2010 – “Priuris”
At Geneva, Toyota will present a Toyota Auris using the hybrid technology currently on Toyota Prius. Here are the first details and the first picture of the production version.
Auris Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive ® (HSD) is the first Toyota hybrid model built exclusively for Europe and is a product resulting from crossing an Auris with a Prius. The layer is borrowed from the, with some amendments, from the latest version of Auris, which will also be present at Geneva Motor Show, and the technical stuff is coming form the world’s most popular hybrid.
We mentioned a few amendments to the external characteristics because, compared to a standard Auris, the HSD version looks a little different. The front bumper has flattened corners for better aerodynamics, and the fog lights have a different architecture. Moreover the front grille has a chromed surface and a honeycomb part underneath it, unlike the conventional-powered versions that have a frond grill with more blades.

Because now we reached the engines chapter, the Auris Hybrid will use exactly the same aggregate as the Toyota Prius, the Atkinson engine of 1.8-liter and 98 HP, plus an electrical power unit, both totaling 134 HP. This model will be produced at the plant in Burnaston, UK.
