Michael Schumacher returned Monday at the wheel of a Formula 1 car in the test session on Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia.

Germany jumped behind the wheel of the Mercedes GP W01 F1 car during this afternoon, and media and fan interest was very high. The seven times world champion has entered immediately in the rhythm and, at the end of the first 18 laps of the circuit, managed to be faster than team-mate Nico Rosberg.

With 30 minutes before the end of the first day of testing, Schumacher was timed in 1:13.449, while Pedro de la Rosa was a leader with 1:12.784.

Anyway it seems like things improved for the German as, at the end of the day he managed to get a time of 1:12.947, with less than four-tenths of a second behind Felipe Massa, and managing to finis third.
