Kimi Raikkonen was the victim of an accident on the second special stage of the Arctic Rally, but was able to return to competition.
Kimi Raikkonen competes this weekend in the Arctic Rally, the first stage of the Finnish Rally Championship, to accommodate with his Citroen C4 WRC car which will use starting next month in the World Rally Championship.
The Finnish pilot began in force, and in the first stage he managed to get a time with only 5 seconds behind his team-mate from Citroen, Dani Sordo.
However, on the second stage Raikkonen suffered an accident after he hit a tree in a right turn. Together with co-driver Kaj Lindstrom, Raikkonen asked the viewers to help him put the car back on the road and eventually was able to continue to rally thanks to the support received from fans. The Finn finished the second stage at 31 minutes behind Sordo and also drove in the third special before he got with his car in the Citroen service.

Drivers have replaced the radiator and a few other elements in the front and rear of the car and Raikkonen left the service with 7 minute delay before the time fixed by regulation. In addition, he will be penalized with 1 minutes and 10 seconds in the general classification of the rally due to successive delays.
