Chrysler 300 S6 And S8 At Detroit 2010 – Hello, Audi?
“Hi, It’s me, Chrysler. Are you still using the S6 and S8 names? I’d like to take them for my new Chrysler 300.” Did Audi say YES?
We do not know what the Germans have to say about this, but we know for sure that the S6 and S8 are connected to the sports models of Audi A6 and A8 ,respectively. Indicative that, as far as we know, Audi has not given up on.
Just like like Dodge did, the brand they own, Chrysler has announced its presence at Detroit in 2010 only with some special editions and some new lines of equipment for the models of the current line-up. And most important innovations are the new versions of Chrysler 300C. Where the “C” was replaced with S6 or S8, depending on the engine under the hood: V6 or V8.
Although the Chrysler marketing department calls these cars the “new Chrysler 300 S6 and 300 S8″, it is clear to everyone that we deal with a subtle facelift, the main change for 2010 is the black grille with chrome edges, trying to depart the vehicle from the bling spirit, providing performance and sobriety. However, the polished and chromed 20″ wheels, take us back into the American culture.

The exterior of the car imposes respect, which is not as evident in the interior, where, despite a serious and high-tech look, the general ambiance is not breathing high level quality, such like Chrysler would like. There is no shortage of carbon fiber insertions or Dark Slate Gray trim, garnished with red stitched “300 S” inscriptions.
The list of standard features is very rich and luxurious – we mention the Kicker audio system with amplifier and subwoofer, the connectivity systems or some elements of comfort such as adjustable seats and pedal electric adjustable pedals.

Technically speaking, the suspension and the steering and braking systems were tuned for sport usage, and the tires are Goodyear Eagle RSA. Chrysler 300 S6 is based on the services of a 3.5-liter V6 and 250 HP, while the 300 S8 has a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI and 360 hp under the hood, equipped with MDS (Multi-Displacement System), which reduces the consumption and pollutant emissions by up to 20%, S8 having an average consumption level close to S6′s.
The new Chrysler 300 S6 and Chrysler 300 S8 will hit the US market in the spring of 2010, but only if Audi will not be OK with the usage of the S6 and S8 indicatives.

This helped my to choose the right car.
