Ford won Car of the Year and Truck of the Year Award in North America International Auto Show in Detroit. The winning models are Fusion Hybrid and Transit Connect.
Ford has received two “Car of the Year” awards at the Auto Show in Detroit. The American automaker won an award with both Fusion Hybrid and Transit Connect models. The 2010 Edition is the third of the last 17 years that the automaker won both the “Car of the Year” and for “Truck of the Year”. The last producer who has received two awards in the same day was Honda, who won in 2006 with the Civic and Ridgeline models.

In the race for North American Car Of The Year, Ford Fusion Hybrid defeated rivals like Buick LaCrosse and Volkswagen Golf GTI. Fusion Hybrid is the fourth hybrid to win this award in the last 17 years and is the second hybrid from Ford that manages the performance. The last Ford hybrid that earned this distinction was Escape Hybrid.

Ford Transit Connect beat its class finalists like Chevrolet Equinox and Subaru Outback. In its class, the Transit Connect is the sixth Ford that manages to win this award. Ford is thus the most successful competitor to the Truck class over the past 17 years and is also the en-titre winner of of this distinction.
The North American Car An Truck Of The Year Awards are given depending on many factors such as innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and value product. This competition’s jury is made up of 49 automotive journalists from the United States and Canada who vote for these vehicles which must be completely new or substantially modified to be eligible for participation in the edition of that year.
