Ferrari prepares an extreme version of the 599 GTB Fiorano model, capable of developing 700 horsepower and reach a top speed of 217 mph.
Ferrari prepares to crown the life cycle of its 599 GTB Fiorano with an extreme edition, which will receive the call GTO, like the legendary 250 GTO in 1962 and 288 GTO in 1984.
The supercar from Maranello will try to fulfill its responsibilities with the help of a 6.0 liter V12 engine, which promises 700 horsepower at 9,000 revs. The resources will be sufficient to shorten acceleration time from 0-60 mph to just 3.2 seconds and to let the future 599GTO reaches a top speed of 217 mph.

Amedeo Felisa, Rearing Horse CEO said, in a recent interview, that the GTO version will mean for 599 waht Scuderia meant fore F430 and will be the first step in model’s change of identity. The future 599 will no longer identify itself with gran-turismo segment, but will try to become a sport product orientated towards performance.
The new 599 GTO will be just a street version of the much more exclusive 599XX, unveiled last spring at Geneva. GTO’s performances will far exceed what they managed to do with the 599 HGTE version.
The future 599 GTO will be produced in a limited number of copies, whose price will hover somewhere between €330,000 and €350,000 ($470,000 – $500,000).
