Arrow Trucking Frozen Because Of Bankruptcy?

December 22nd, 2009

In a world where everybody has financial problems because of the the worldwide economical situation you’d expect to see big companies bankrupt every day. But this is just what’s happening these days. A few days ago we told you about Saab’s situation on the market, now we are talking about Arrow Trucking Co.

Arrow is an American company that owns over 1,400 trucks and operates transports allover US. But now, rumor has it that Arrow Trucking is almost bankrupt. Or at least this is what company’s drivers say.

When no official takes courage to comment about Arrow Trucking bankruptcy (nor President and CEO Doug Pielsticker, nor Executive Vice President Joe Mawry) this is what we believe happened with the company. A person inside the company’s administration said that, on Tuesday morning, more than 200 people were told to pack and leave their offices at 4230 S. Elwood Ave by an Arrow executive.

An Arrow truck driver, Ruben Bradley, talks about the situation: “A driver was told they’re shutting the doors and to bring his truck to the nearest Freightliner dealer or Arrow terminal,” he said.

Teresa Williams, the mother of an Arrow Trucking mechanic also knows something about company’s situation: “He sent me a text message and said ‘Mom, it’s over,’” she said. “Everything is frozen right now.”

  • it is a sad day for all arrow families they could have let us know. we will now loose hundreds of dollars in belongings on the truck cause cant take them on a bus. we struggle as it is and now to deal with this. my kids will not have a christmas at all

    • i’d sell the tarps and chains and everything else i could and try to rent a car or have my things shipped home with the money. i lost all of my things in a truck fire last spring and still haven’t replaced it all

    • i truly understand sherry…im a driver and i truly wanted @ cry

    • I’m sorry to hear about Arrow Trucking, but it is a reality of our sick economy regardless of what the cheer leader idiots on CNBC want you to believe. I was a driver myself for years, I finially found a nitch and started my own company. I also have a recovery license. I can help some of Arrows drivers, but you will get your $100 after I get my recovery pay. All you have is my word that I’ll pay you $100 for every truck you send me to that I can recover. Either I’ll recover it, or some else will, so you may as well get something out of it. It’s not a lot of money, but it’s $100 more than Arrow is giving you. As a bonus, I’ll send you immediately, as soon as I recover your truck and/or trailer a e-book I wrote last year called “The Recruiter”. The e-book is a comprehensive instruction bookj on getting started in Drive Away, or vehicle transfering from Point A to Point B. Yes, the book includes applications of the various companies in this arena. Your previous driving experience is a plus for you, as most only want experienced drivers. You will be signed on as an independant contractor and only drive or thake the runs you want to, when you want to. It’s really an adventure, not a job. Thanks for reading if you did, I wish I could offer more.

      Sincerely,
      Ron Schmidli

      • This is an obvious attempt to try to drum up business from the injured. You are nothing more than a leech and an ambulance chaser. The collaspe of the company had nothing to do with the economy. It had everything to do with greed. If anything the economy made it so that the perpretrators got caught. Dive back into your hole Ron. Others are giving $200 to turn the trucks in and there is no waiting period for the fee. You are short changing those that don’t need your kind of help

  • I am sorry to here this……….I cant believe they couldnt give any kind of notice. Just goes to show there is zero laulty left in any company. PERIOD

    • I hear that Daimler Truck Financial is covering the cost for Arrow drivers to get from where they are to their home by Greyhound. At least one company has a little heart this Christmas.

      • yes they are giving the drivers the choice between gettin the bus or 200.00 to rent a car or fly home.

        • the gesture is really nice, but the problem is that you can’t take all of your stuff with you on a bus…some of these guys have fridges, and microwaves, and several bags worth of things…what are they supposed to do with it?? and if they are reimbursing for a car rental, some of these drivers have not been paid in weeks, they don’t have money to buy food for the next few days, let alone money for car rental or bus ticket…this is just such a sad situation for the truckers and their families…my husband is an over the road driver, and i am just thanking my lucky stars that this did not happen to us…please visit the facebook page if you are a driver, or someone willing to help!!! there are many people willing to give all they can to see these drivers make it home soon, and to keep their belongings and things….http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/Support-for-Stranded-Arrow-Trucking-Drivers-Coordinate-Efforts-HERE/213591833387?ref=nf

      • I am an Arrow driver. I paid for my own fuel (over $400) and I deadheaded my truck home strait home once I heard the news. Already sold the 2007 flatbed for $6500, sold all the mess of tarps, chains, binders for another $500. I am going to strip this brand new Freightshaker down and sell it for parts. First thing I did was unhook the satnav unit, they don’t know where I am and the rig still runs. Anyone need parts for a 2010 Century Class with a Detroit let me know, I am selling everything for 15% of dealer list price. Truck only has 108K and I have been the only driver.

        • arrow driver, you rule. i hope everyone else does the exact same thing as you. what an awful situation! what a horrible owner! i hope he gets his karmatic justice!!!

        • It is terrible when a company closes its doors without warning especially before the holidays. We can help by buying parts or trucks for any Ex Arrow Truck Drivers. Please send us a message at tgarcia@rapidtransport.com

        • Remember, for all practical purposes Arrow is gone. When you start stripping parts it will only efect the value of the equipment which is held by the finance company. From what I have read, Daimler Truck probably holds the note on this unit and they are trying to help drivers thru the current situation with $200 to get home. Character is tested in times like this. Lets all try to get thru this by doing the right thing. Keep the Arrow employees in your prayers thru this extremely difficult time for them.

        • frank The may be lowjacked they use gps to find it, don’t run your mouth it is still theift.

        • arrow driver, do what you have to do to make yourself financially whole if arrow owes you money, but not break any laws. The owner of the truck (and trailer), which isn’t arrow, will come after you for the value of the truck (and trailer). Good luck.

        • Hell yea My husband use 2 work for them and we would have did the same thing they always been a low down dirty company

      • This is true, Daimler is buying a bus ticket home or giving the driver 200 dollars to try and get them home. Daimler is a good, honest and sincere company!

      • yeah, a bus ticket up to $200, or a VOUCHER to be re-imbursed if you rent a car! what about the equiptment, pet or wife that was with you….leave them on the side of the road…Ohhh, wait…that is doug peilstikit2em’s m.o.

  • I too affected by the closing mine is at truck stop now trying to see everything he can

  • Dh is out there now (not for arrow) wish he could give somebody a ride home.

  • Look for hundreds more to go under in the next 3 months. YRC is on the verge of bankruptcy and thousands of more trucking companies are in bad financial shape. The first quarter brings more bills, license, taxes, tags, etc. and these companies can’t make their payrolls now. The amount of over capacity has to shrink and make the rates go up. Too many trucks chasing too little freight dilutes the freight and puts downward pressure on rates. We need at least 30,000 trucks to exit the industry to help the ones that are struggling now to survive. This Arrow situation is bad but get used to it because more is coming very soon.

    • This is right, with new bills coming people will try to sell a couple trucks and pay the licenses and insurance. However, finance companies do not want to give up the equity of paid for equipment so the result will be fast and complete forclosures. To many hands in the cookie jar to feed. SUCKS but is reality.

    • Jon – Today’s date 1/16/10 I believe you. About a month ago, Arrows’ bankruptcy was but a 10 second blip report on A.M. radio. I know nothing about trucking, but because I know our economy is imploding while the media reports the opposite of this fact – I knew something was bad wrong. I did an immediate search for 1 week on the internet about the company Arrow – absolutely ZERO news came up on this bankruptcy. I thought maybe I heard it wrong. But now – I’m convinced the news was scrubbed or never reported so the public was in the dark. Then, this week January 15th, a trucker and his family in our area told our newspaper the story how the Arrow truckers were left high and dry by the company. I did a search again – and only now do I see maybe 3 to 4 different unfamiliar sites reporting this ominous trucking collapse. I know you are right. People have no idea just how critical the trucking business is to our nation. You all are the lifeblood of this nation and I am bracing myself for what you reported. Thankyou for your insightful message. paula

  • we saw it coming along time ago. arrow was putting 2 many drivers thru orientation each week and would get there little chek from the gov’t and wouldn’t hav a truk 2 put some drivers in 4 weeks if at all.

  • All these Truck driving schools are nothing but scams. Promising people that they can make money and get a job driving a truck when there isn’t any jobs. Arrow Trucking is the victim of bad management and a a recession too boot. Swift , Schneider and JB Hunt need to shutdown and others need to quit hauling freight for pennies a mile. They are causing other companies to lose money and eventually shut down. 3rd Party Logistics companies are stealing over half the revenue and are useless, and shippers should quit using them. The trucking industry needs reform and change back to regulation. It’s not sustainable the way it’s going now with the actual drivers and carriers getting robbed by the shippers and 3PL’s.

    • yrc’s bond holders just bought up the stock about 6 hours ago so they will not be fileing bankruptcy

    • You are aware that companies like Schneider and JB Hunt do not train anymore right? They also haul for high rates. Not pennies per mile. That is why so many owner operators with their own authority broker freight from them.

    • Yes I know, look for the big guys and blame them for everything, anyway we were told over qualcomm yesterday to help any arrow driver to get them home. Meaning if they wanne go the same direction we are drivng we will take them and their stuff on our trucks. Good is you’ll find us on every trucksop, so just ask us.
I wish all arrow drivers and their familys and everybody else a merry christmas.

    • frank Business owners don’t want to pay more for shipping, the fuel companies want at least 600 % profit or they’re not happy, and brokerages that never has owned a truck does’nt have a clue on what a truck cost to run and does’nt care! The brokers are ruining the business stealing the fuel money or at least not passing it on, The problem will continue untill a base charge is set. The government has’nt done a thing for 8 years and will not for the next 8 years. It’s up to the trucking owners don’t move it unless it pays enough. The drivers are in a hard situation, but they need to become owners. This may come as a shock but in trucking everybody is a crook, use railroads to ship for a while. The final result businesses would pay more, the oil companies would drop the price of fuel by a lot and railroads would hire more skilled workers. Make driving a skill they have to qualify for,or they can’t drive! I use to have 16 rigs, I’ve experienced it all. Don’t give up just stick together and decide your fate.

    • I agree with you Jon. MOST trucking school are legalized scams. They run candidates through just to get state and federal money. ie. manpower, job corp. etc. and dont really care if you get a job afterwards. Even the larger trucking companies with thier own schools are in on it. Again I agree with the 3pl statement.

Keep a look out for Morine Networking, Inc. a 3pl that is going to revolutionalize how 3pl should work. We will catch a lot of head wind from the big boys but the little guys will be the ones KEEPING the lions share of the load, about 90-95% of the gross. Now what 3pl does that. NOT ONE. But we will.

  • YRC is not out of the woods yet. They still have to get STOCKHOLDERS approval of the debt to equity swap and that doesn’t look good. They got approval from lenders to lower the threshold of the amount of percentage of stockholders approval from 95% to 57%. This may not go through either. Stockholders are reluctant to give up everything and some stockholders have credit default insurance that allows them to get their initial investment back if YRC goes bankrupt. If the debt for equity goes through the current shareholders get nothing and the lenders become the shareholders by proxy. Why would stockholders give up everything just so YRC can survive a few more months? They, YRC are losing 50 million a month by their own accounting reports and LTL business is in dire straits with customers fleeing them like a wildfire.

  • i just wanted to let everyone know there is a large group forming to help these truckers and their families…just follow the link

  • im 15, dont know the whole story but no matter how bad money is, ya dont just strand drivers and close your doors. take a look through this website, tons of people are trying to support theses drivers and families and send them home for christmas! also if your a member of OOIDA or listen to Roaddog on Sirus satelite radio give them a call and let em know whats going on

  • I worked for Arrow 2 times in 4years, the last time was almost 2 1/2 years, I couldnt get enough miles to make a good check at the end, was avg, 1500 miles a week, At that time each week about 60 drivers a week went thru Orientation, I have been Driving for 31 years and I was really upset when I found out about this at 0900 this morning and have been on top of the news all day.
Any Driver that needs help finding a job contact me at jmc@mytruckn.com , Send me a copy of your Resume and I will help You find a job free of charge.
I wish I could do more, Our Thoughts and Prayers are with all of these Drivers and Their Families.

  • I’ve worked in the flatbed /specialized industry my entire adult life . Started as customer service person, csr manager,to operations manager ..logistics manager, then a couple years ago, to outside sales

Worked for a major player in the industry, and got laid off now
    (Not Arrow)

Arrow has been mismanaged for years, they had trailers left all over gods creation, finding all those will be next to impossible

I hope all the drivers are able to get home safe

    Ps, I hate brokers too

    Happy holidays all

  • i never dreamed about arrow would be going out of business like this, i quit company last month but never wanted to see going away like this….its sad time for 100s of employees….its not a good christmas for all arrow drivers and people from office….but i must admit one thing over here i worked 7 months with arrow, and noticed one thing no body was serious to keep running this company.

  • President and CEO Doug Pielsticker, nor Executive Vice President Joe Mawry would be great room mates for Bernie Madoff

  • In a conference of Trucking Executives last spring the CEO and President of Schneider got up in front of the attendees and apologized for lowering freight rates to .73 cents a mile. This set off a decline in rates and shippers knew they were at an advantage when Schneider came in and lowered the rates just to keep their fleet moving. The truth is the larger carriers are driving rates down just so they have freight to move. Swift, Schneider, PAM, USA Truck, Werner, Covenant all are hauling freight as a losing rate. Look for many more like Arrow to go belly up in the first quarter.

  • I worked for Arrow Trucking twice both times in different departments. There is too much money spent on luxury items for the CEO’s and their secretaries, and not not enough knowledge behind the eyes of them to run a company well enough. Most employees are treated like dirt, while others in accounting can’t do their jobs, mean while huge bills build up and other companies refuse work for the company because bills are not paid. That is just one of the problems. I must give credit where it is due, the CEO of maintenance is a good man and must be devastated at such a great loss. I hope all the employees can stand back up on their feet after being affected so badly and at such a horrible time. And just know that things will be better since you no longer work for a weasel!

  • My dad just got back to California where we live yesterday (12-21 monday). He was stranded somewhere for 9 days over thanksgiving with no load. Then got a small/short load before being told by Arrow to return to headquarters. They said that the truck needed maintenance and kept him stranded another 9-10 days. They got him his last load (he didnt know it would be his last load) last Friday and so he dropped it off here in Ca. where we live, yesterday.

I guess I am really lucky that my dad did not get stranded somewhere out there even though he was one of the 200 who got laid off. He just found out today. He was just about to get health care and dental etc.. in January and really needing that. All I know is that whatever measily final check they give him better not bounce.

I think it would be funny if all the Arrow drivers who got laid off just drove the trucks to their homes and told Arrow to come pick them up themselves. Strand Arrow before they strand you :) If 200 employees did that wow talk about making headlines.

    • Arrow doesn’t care about the trucks because they have them financed, they don’t own them. They are also screwing over the finance companies who actually own the trucks by closing their doors this way.

      • You need to think that the finance companies are the reason for closing this way. If you cant pay for the trucks poeple will take them back. This is what happened, if it were up to Arrow… theyd run them forever and not pay for them. Thats were the problem is!

  • Charles D. Care II / December 23, 2009 at 3:01 am

I knew it when I was there this summer. My story is at: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/user/blog/CBear47/view=80864167

I only wish there was something more I could do, other than go check on the Arrow Truck here in Albuquerque at the TA to be sure he/she’s okay.

  • I knew something fishy was going on. My company went bankrupt here in Calgary, AB Canada two weeks ago. One of our very last trailers was an arrow trailer, empty, southbound for the US. It was very styrange because the company I work for was never affiliated with them and we strictly haul industrial supplies and occasionaly flatdecks. Arrow didn’t have any business with the type of business my company was doing. Very strange. I guess they knew they were going bankrupt before they announced it and wanted to get their trailers back to HQ before they got stranded up here in Canada.

  • If your employment was recently affected by the closing of Arrow Trucking, contact PGT Trucking for immediate consideration 800-824-0723

  • i worked for arrow trucking for 12yrs from 94-2006 and at that time it was a very good company . i recived my millon mile awards there, i always got plenty of miles and had no problems that could not be sloved in a short amount of time. my sister is a news producer for chennel 7 in denver and when she called me yesterday and told me about the closing of arrow i was floored. any driver that is stuck in the ontario area and needs a place to stay until they can get a ride home you can e-mail at happydriver55@live.com or call me at (760)329-5756 and i will try to get to you and i have a spare bed you can use until you can get a ride home. i don’t have much to offer because i’m haveing back surgery next month and have been out of work since aug. of 08 waiting on this. i hope you all can make it home for xmas and keep your head held high. i know it is hard to do with this now but it will all work out in the end.

  • I think its ridiculous that the drivers are told to park their trucks at the nearest place possible. I wouldn’t return the truck unless I had my final paycheck in hand. The thing is that the company went and bought new trucks when they could’ve kept that money to try and fix their situation, but those corporate people just don’t think sometimes.

  • I feel bad for all the dedicated employees, I am sure that Arrow was trying to save their company. I own a trucking company and 85 tractors and 275 trailers. 40 tractors are parked and we are now half the size that we were a year ago. I have personally lost two million dollars of net worth. My family and I have spent our lives in trucking and run a well thoughtof safe company. We know our costs and have a long history of sucess but everyday, I am told that our rates are too high. We have a freight brokerage operation like everyone else but we hate them like every other truck owner. There seems to be no price too low to get a truck to haul the freight. Non-asset based freight brokers or 3PLs as they call themselves have taken over the pricing of our industry and have no more investment than a phone and computer. We know our costs but shippers don’t care, the lowest price wins. After 38 years in the motor freight industry, I can honestly say that the last three years have been the worst I have ever experienced. I have put a life’s accumulation at risk to stay in business, hopefully we will be a survivor when the conditions change as the inevitably will.

  • I WORK FOR A PETERBILT DEALERSHIP IN SD, I REALLY FEEL FOR ALL YOU DRIVERS OUT THERE WHO ARE STRANDED. IF IT WAS ME, I WOULD PARK THE TRUCK IN THE WORST LOCATION OF THE CITY YOU ARE IN, AND LET WHOM EVER DISMANTLE THE TRUCK. I HAVE ONE OTHER THING TO ADD TO THIS, I THINK ALL THE TRUCK DRIVERS NEED TO GET TOGETHER AND PARK THERE TRUCKS UNTIL CERTAIN PEOPLE WAKE UP AND RELIZE THAT WITH OUT THE TRUCKS, STORES AND EVERY OTHER BUSINESS WILL NOT RECIEVE THERE GOODS. PARK IT. I KNOW ITS EASY TO SAY WHEN THERE IS NO INCOME, BUT SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND GET HOME SAFE. THE FISHERMAN

  • I worked for Arrow prior to the passing of Jim Pielsticker.

He knew how to run the trucking company, in some cases he had the right people in the right place to help run the company.

I worked for another company out of Indiana that went bellow up.
The woman taht owned this company was crooked as a barrel of snakes, She closed up owing the drivers as mush as 7-8 thousand bucks.

My sympathy to you drivers and some admin folks.

Doug did not learn all he should have from Jim, sorry.

Keep a positive mental attitude. Merry Christmas

Hip Hip for the HEAVY HAUL!!!

  • Parting out BRAND NEW 2010 FTL Century Class ST Condo with a Detroit. 108,000 miles on the odo. Complete truck, not a scratch on it. All parts are cash or trade. White with green decals that say Arrow. No trailer. Grey interior. Non smoker. Aux heat/air on the frame. Large toolbox on the frame. Sirius radio. Headache rack. Call your dealer, get the price on the parts you need, pay me 15% of their best price. You pull all parts. Truck has not been reported stolen, so this is not a crime. The rig is assigned to me. Let me know what parts you need. About 1/8 fuel.

    • Enough of BS, Arrow didn’t buy a new freightliner in years, 2007 to be more exact.

      • Name (required) / January 11, 2010 at 3:15 am

Arrow Driver, Even if you did work for arrow and got laid off and are trying to sell truc parts on here, some one would turn you in cuz it is theft. quit being dumb.

  • My wife and I were left in west virginia with a load to florida and no fuel,,my in-laws came all the way from n. carolina to get us so we wouldn’t lose our stuff,,,,while we were waiting ,a driver came by and told us to contact Prime asap and it seems this was a message passed across the Prime drivers to pass onto arrow drivers ..so now I go to Prime monday for orientation,,,,,and my wife took our check for over a week ago to the bank and it’s worthless,,,,no funds available ….guess the one for last week will be too,,,our thanks to Jack and Kim for dinner,,,,turned out to be a long wait for our ride after all,,,good luck fellow arrow orphans and thanks to those helping

  • What arrow did and many more will do is total crap. The next company that does it all there drivers should park those trucks at there state representative office on the steps . Our government will bail out banks and big unions. But will do nothing to help what should be the second biggest union of them all the truck drivers.Ok this is like shooting a whale with a BB gun.I know we are starving but if freight doesn’t move 3LP don’t make any money . Fine they want to pay cheap rates then make them prepay ! You have expenses now not just a phone bill . Do some home work look on the load boards see a load you want get out a phone book call the manufactures in that city take the load from the broker . In these economic times credit is useless .

  • I am about to be laid off myself – thanks to mis management at the top of my company. Another company manager who left under bad terms, formed another company and they are undercutting our rates and so far have won contracts to deliver those new Big Trucks. We are left with one contract and that contract expires soon. That makes it so that untold numbers of drivers, office/dispatch people, and the crew that deck the trucks for the drivers, lose their jobs and take a rate cut just to stay employed. I’m not sure which direction I’ll take, new employment with forced dispatch, or new occupation. I’m appalled at Arrow – but it is not far behind others who have done similar. I must say – I feel for the Arrow employees. You know their management is having a decent holiday.

  • This thing with Arrow has been a long time coming. I was leased to H. J. Jeffries out of Oklahoma City bank in the early eighties and we were hauling a lot of oil field pipe and machinery into the Colorado, Wyoming, Utah area. It was hard work, with sometimes terrible conditions, but we were getting a decent rate and making it work. But then, Arrow came in and cut our rate almost in half so naturally we lost the haul. I couldn’t see then, how they could do it and I guess the truth is, they couldn’t!

  • “due to the financial crisis of the world. we can see loads of bankrupt companies
in the world. therefore people must aware on the same accordingly. thanks a lot for sharing this info.”

BS!!!! Arrow did NOT have ANY trucks over a 2006 and no trailers over a 2004..dont know who the hell you are but you did NOT work for Arrow and drive a 2010 freightliner…go jerk someone elses chain and stop trying to benefit from our misfurtune!

  • Ed a REAL Arrow driver / December 24, 2009 at 9:51 am

cant beleive the idiots that are on the web now adays

    • If you’re an actual arrow driver then what was your truck number, who was your driver manager, what terminal were you assigned to? You answer all that and I might just give you the benefit of the doubt, except that I know that the last trucks Arrow purchased were 07 KW and I am a real Arrow Driver! I never got a bounced check! I had to wait for repairs sometimes, but I figured with the downturn in the economy something had to give.

  • i will be praying for all of you arrow drivers. if any of you are in the lagrange, atlanta, hogansville, columbus area and need someone to keep you belongings until you can retrieve them, contact me kimberly.racing24@gmail.com and i will be glad to pick your belongings up and hold them for you until you can get them, or if you have a pet with you and can’t get it home, i will also keep them for you. my husband is a truck driver and god forbid this should happen to him!!! i have a barn that is empty and will be glad to come pickup whatever you have as far as personal belongings and hold them until you can get them. again you and your families are in my prayers!!!

  • UPDATE CONT’D !

Sorry, both mirrors (both sides) have been sold. Batteries have been sold. Front bumper is still available & has lights.

    • I think you’re probably full of beans, but if you aren’t lying about parting out that truck – you’re asking for a pack of trouble.

If you don’t own that truck, that’s theft – pure and simple.

  • I was stranded in erie pa payed for my own fuel drove straight to home anybody stuck in ga atlanta area give me call 770 84203454

  • please be careful what you guys sell. I would hate for a driver to go to jail over arrows mistake

    • You’re an idiot. If you do by some remote possibility work for a Peterbilt dealership, or work at all… I suspect you’re in the janitorial or food service “sector” of trucking.

Why don’t YOU get all these truckers together? Here is a suggestion for a slogan for your organization – PORK YORE TURKS!

Dude… seriously, lose the caps, learn to spell, try to speak in something other than idiotic cliches – and maybe one day you’ll be the head janitor at a Peterbilt dealership in South Dakota.

  • This is a real shame for the stranded and jobless drivers, but also for a company that was once good to drivers and its community. I left the “watermelon” in ’06 because I could no longer make enough money to make otr worth the effort, but for the seven years prior to that – I got all the miles that even a “creative” logger could handle.

Yeah, Doug is a waste of space, but there are surely more factors than he. I don’t think he had that much day to day control, but he and Mama Stickandpeil hired the worst of the worst, paid them big bucks, and they eventually ran Arrow into the ditch.

*One other thing about the clown (Arrow Driver) who claims he’s selling Arrow’s truck for parts. A couple of others have said you’re probably full of B/S, and I suspect they are right, but for anyone thinking this is a good idea… IT ISN’T! You’ll be stealing, you’ll be caught, and you’ll be prosecuted. Losing a job and maybe being stranded in bf egypt will be over and forgotten in a short time – a felony on your record will last forever.

Good luck and Happy Holidays to all!

You don’t have to go the route of parting out the truck to hold security on what is owed to you. If Arrow owes you money, you are one of its Creditors. The Truck is Collateral. Drive it home and go to the County Courthouse and put a Lien on the Truck, along with a daily storage charge until you are paid in full for what is owed to you.

In 6 months you go back to the court when nobody has paid you off, and the Judge will sign the Title on the truck over to you free and clear.

You can use the Law here just like the big boys do, and if you do it in a county with a small town Judge, he’ll enjoy sticking it to the big boys as much as you do.

    RE

    • Thats not going to work… Arrow doesn’t own the trucks. They couldn’t care less how many liens are on them, and the title holders of the trucks don’t owe the drivers a dime.

There is about a 99% chance these drivers will never get paid, and a 100% chance they aren’t going to get a free truck out of the deal.

Sometimes life just ain’t fair, and the best thing to do is forget it and move on.

  • people here are selling all of the stuff off the trucks on craigslist. snag it before the repo guy does!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How Ol’ Dougy Stole Christmas….Almost.
T’was the week before Christmas, and all across the nation.
Arrow truckers were stranded, they couldn’t get home for vacation.
They wondered and waited for help to arrive.
The Company Chief said they were on their own to survive.
The company lawyer said it was up to them to be handled.
After all, Ol’ Dougy stole our money and gambled.

While in Bentleys and Maseratis Ol’ Dougy did drive.
Arrows truckers were left stranded, some barely alive.
While in private jets, around the country the Pielstickers they flew.
All of Arrow’s employees were about to be screwed.
Three days before Christmas they were out of a job.
All the while Ol’ Dougy hid from the angry mob.

Ol’ Dougy he laughed with glee and with cheer.
He thought he had made off with Christmas this year.
But then something happened that he would never believe.
The spirit of America gave the drivers a Christmas reprieve.
From around this great nation came calls and came texts.
People from all over asked “How can we help the best”?
The drivers were given all kinds of good things.
The drivers were rescued by angels without wings.
From plane and bus tickets, to money and rides.
All of the while Ol’ Dougy he still hides.
From Seattle to Tampa, New York to Hollywood.
From rich and from poor, they did what they could.

There are two Arrow angels I can’t fail to mention.
Although I am sure that they don’t want the attention.
They spent Christmas Eve driving around in a Jeep.
To bring food and bring toys to others in deep.
With donation from family, from friends and from strangers.
They drove though the snow storm without thought of the dangers.
JP and the Moose Man went far out of their way.
To make sure that their co-workers were cared for this day.
They could have kept the things others donated.
But, Just like Ol’ Dougy, they would have been hated.

Because the spirit of Christmas is alive and is well.
I won’t tell Ol’ Dougy to go straight to hell.
Since I don’t want to lower myself to his level.
I won’t say that Ol’ Dougy himself is the Devil.
Now good Ol’ Dougy must run for his life.
With diamonds and gold and his new trophy wife.

Because of the people who helped the Arrow employees.
Tonight when its bed time I’ll get down on my knees
I’ll give thanks to the heavens. I’ll give thanks to dear Jesus.
That I live in this great country, with the neighbors he gave us.
I’ll give thanks to the heavens. I’ll give thanks to dear Jesus.
That for every greedy man, There are many angels too save us.
While the employees were fired without care or warm thought.
American angels have shown us, that forgotten we’re not.
The last thing I will say as Arrow Trucking Fades out of sight.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL, A GOOD NIGHT.

I want to thank every single person the helped An Arrow driver, employee or anyone else that has been effected by this tragic event.

I never met the man, but from what I’ve been told, the generosity that we have been shown by this nation in the last few days, is the American spirit that Jim and Carol Pielsticker stood for. Too bad it skipped a generation. Jim, Carol, and the Pielsticker name deserve better.
I want to thank JP Price And Brice “Moose Man” Rasmussen for letting me be a small part of what they did on Christmas Eve. Better men you will never find.

    • Nice one!! This goes in the same folder as what does Arrow stand for?
      Another Retarded Redneck on Welfare……..
or; A Reckless Rambo on Wheels…..

But seriously, great poem for the occasion, may I cut and paste and send this to some former Arrow drivers ( which I am one )?

  • There is 2010 Century Class carcass of an Arrow Trucking rig in my barn. I have not scammed anyone. I have sold parts to about 8 different people who were left more than satisfied. I never took a dime until the parts were loaded up and pointed down my driveway. Arrow has (or had) many, many 08 and 09 FRTL and KW’s. If you didnt get a newer truck there was likely a reason for it, but dont say 07′s were there newest stock, I know better. Know for a fact that a few more Arrow trucks will never get accounted for when the dust settles.

If I told you my truck # or “driver manager”, that’d be silly of me, wouldnt it? Never ripped *anyone off*, except for maybe Mercedes Benz credit, who own the truck. Way I figure it, they have deeper pockets for lawyers than you or I. They’ll get their money from Doug years before you see a cent. Sorry, thats just the way it is.

My last posting: All the parts worth having are gone from this truck. Nothing else is for sale, THANK YOU ALL who were able to ‘help you, help me’. Sold both seats & gauges/dash panels this afternoon, everything else is shell. Come spring I’ll dig her a final resting place, or wouldnt it be something to drop deck it to Tulsa?

  • Can you say lowjack! If the company is in bankruptcy the government will step in someone will go to jail for theft.

  • Retard

  • My heart goes out to all the Arrow drivers and staff. I work in the office at a small trucking company and things are getting bad. We are having trouble finding loads and the loads we do find barely cover the cost of fuel and the driver. There is little to nothing left over to cover other costs such as licensing and insurance. The bills are piling up and I don’t know how to pay them. I’m the only one in the office and I’m so afraid of losing my job. The owner keeps mentioning the possibility of having to close which leaves me literally feeling sick because there are no other job openings in our area. I pray that 2010 is a better year for all of us!

I feel truly sorry for anyone formerly employed by that out-house enterprise in Tulsa, OK. In 1996 Arrow became my first OTR employer and shortly thereafter in 1999 they ended up being my last OTR employer! I had some delusion that I would actually be driving on a steady basis for Arrow trucking , however I usually ended up loadless for days in places no one wants to live in or visit (with rare exception). I put up with “full retard incorporated” as long as I could, I should thank them for showing their ass right away- it got me off the road that much quicker! Russell (I got KINNEDYNE!) , Bob and hell even George Brannen if you’re still out there somewhere, there’s a gasoline tanker driver out in Phoenix, Az that wishes you well.

  • To any former Arrow truck drivers: Looking for stranded Arrow Utility Trailers and International Trucks. Please call 800-888-2738 ext. 8121 or 8156 for information on a finders fee!

  • Reward for location of Arrow trucks that I can recover for the finance company. They’re paying us $250 finder’s fee and I’ll split it with you if it’s still there and I can get it recovered. Sorry to hear about Arrow’s bankruptcy. Every small business is against the wall in this environment, mine included.

  • If you know where one of these vehicles are

    Call me 888-714-5227

I will pay you half of the recovery fee when recovered.

    Don

  • It’s truely an unfortunate situation and a lot of great comments. But, it all starts with buying American products. The domino effect. We have a small trucking company tied to the auto industry. What is happening in Detroit is spreading across America. If we keep buying foriegn vehicles, which only supports foriegn companies, this could be the beginning of a real slide. My advice is to buy American and vote Republican. You can see buying foriegn and voting Democrat is killing our economy.

  • IF PEOPLE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH 3PL COMPANIES THEN WHY DO THEY STILL CONTINUE TO HAUL THEIR FRIEHGT? IF YOU DONT LIKE THEY WAY A BROKERAGE WORKS THEN DONT SIGN A CARRIER CONTRACT AND GO AFTER THE BUSINESS YOURSELF. IT SOUNDS LIKE A COP OUT TO ME…
