Aston Martin Cygnet concept, a luxury minicar?
Aston Martin designers working on a the body of theĀ Toyota iQ to create a new minicar. That’s right, Aston Martin is launching a urban commuter. Interesting times we are living, isn’t it? The car is all covered in leather on the inside. Actually the inside is the part Aston Martin changed the most, making close to the feeling of a luxury-packed DB9 only… a lot tinnier. So unless your claustrophobic you just might love this car even if you only drive in supercar standard set of wheels. An urban drive from Aston Martin might indeed sound a bit silly, as usually youngsters or busy centre city areas dwellers go for a cheap little car they can park anywhere, not one with luxury features and an imposing label on it’s chin. But let’s be open minded, after all we don’t know the price yet… But we do have a tiny press release and a photo gallery for you. Enjoy the pics and we’ll get back to you with more details.
Aston Martin say they hope to have it in production in 2010 for European and UK customers.Based in Gaydon, Warwickshire, Aston Martin’s name is comes from the name of one of the company’s founders, Lionel Martin, and from the Aston Hill speed hillclimb near Aston Clinton in Buckinghamshire. The two new models that are to come from the British deluxe brand are the Rapide and this little fellow the Cygnet. So the car just may be highly expected despite it’s little allure…

The time is right for an ultra luxury city car, but red leather interiors don’t exactly match the expectations of the target market: 30-40somethings who need an in-city or home to train station commuter. Put in burl, grey or tan leathers, and a drink cooler.
