MeeGo-Based Nokia N9 With Intel Atom 1.2GHz CPU To Be Released At MWC 2011
Nokia is not doing to well in the smartphone market and now that the company has a new CEO, it’s time for a different approach. Symbian must be ditched and MeeGo should take its place. Nokia should work harder to bring the first MeeGo smartphone sooner rather than later and according to Prosessori, the Finnish company will reveal its Intel-powered handset at MWC 2011.
It is well know that MeeGo resulted from the merger between Nokia’s Maemo and Intel’s Moblin, fact which shows that the two companies get along very well. And if a Finnish tech-related magazine says that Nokia will reveal an Intel Atom-powered smartphone at the Mobile World Congress 2011 then we should believe that it’s finally happening!

Nokia N9
What’s happening? The first Intel smartphone and the first Nokia MeeGo smartphone. Intel already demoed that MeeGo can run on the Moorestown platform (which is based on an Atom CPU) and it said that the first Atom-based phones will be released in mid 2011 therefore a MWC launch would be timed perfectly.
The Finnish magazine says that the Intel Medfield processor for the Nokia MeeGo smartphone will be clocked at 1.2GHz and this is Intel power baby! Maybe Nokia can truly be saved and like aforementioned, a Nokia-Intel MeeGo smartphone, probably the Nokia N9 pictured above, would make a lot of fuss worldwide.
