Apple App Store To Reach 10 Billion Downloads In A Couple Of Days

Apple has posted another countdown on its website and now it’s for the App Store. The number of App Store downloads is nearing 10 billion and Apple is going to give a $10,000 iTunes gift card to the person who downloads the ten billionth app.

I remember that Apple reached the one billionth App Store download back in April 2009 and it took the Cupertino-based company only one a half years to record further nine billion downloads. Isn’t this just impressive?

The App Store will reach 10 billion downloads in a couple of days or even earlier and you can watch the countdown live at the official Apple “App Store  10 Billion App Countdown” web page. If you want to win the $10,000 iTunes gift card then you should wait until the counter goes closer to 10 billion so you should watch the countdown.

About 18,000 apps are downloaded per minute at the App Store. Currently the countdown stands at approximately 9,852,430,000 so you do the math!
